13c's classroom
revelation tore through the classroom.
levi stood at the front like a raptor studying his territory. his rigid scrutiny swept the rows of desks one by one, searching—no, hunting—for the person jean had just carelessly outed.
and it was obvious who. every head had swivelled in perfect unison, their narrowed stares pinning you to your chair like some poor bug caught under a magnifying glass.
sweat gathered at your collar. you wished you could just vanish, melt into the very fibres of the carpet and cease to exist. but no such mercy came—levi had found you.
everything came to a halt.
your lungs refused to draw air. your pulse thundered too loudly; you were convinced the whole class could hear it. the cord of recognition on his face sliced right through you, laying bare every cautiously guarded secret under the intensity of his being.
in that instant, you knew.
he remembered.
the president's lips parted, about to drop the bomb.
"you. you're—"
your blood turned to ice.
no. you couldn't let him finish. not in front of everyone.
adrenaline exploded. you were on your feet before your brain even registered it, chair clattering louder than it had any right to be. gasps rippled, but you didn't care.
legs carried you from your desk to the front, hand shooting out to seize the collar of levi's blazer in one decisive movement, fabric stiff and expensive under your fingers. your skull throbbed violently, drowning out the rising chorus of gossip.
the president's eyebrow twitched, his cold, dark eyes boring into yours. he was momentarily speechless, clearly unprepared for your bold, abrupt manoeuvre.
"what the hell do you think you're doing?"
you tightened your grip, jaw aching."we need to talk." the words forced their way out."outside. now."
