monday

you'd spent the entire weekend scheming a precise act of revenge, and now it was finally paying off.

a layer of sticky residue coated levi's locker, harmless enough, but maddeningly irritating to a perfectionist. part of you had toyed with the idea of something bigger, more chaotic. but honestly? levi wasn't worth a detention.

peeking around the corner, you watched the full-blown cleaning ordeal. each meticulous scrub, every low growl of displeasure, every stubborn fingerprint that transferred from his glove to his sleeves, made his jaw rigid and your smile wider.

that's right, levi. let him stew while you remained invisible, savouring your small, perfect victory.

tuesday

professor nanaba's geography class was the last of the day. as she went around collecting homework, you slid your hand into the storage slot beneath the desk in search of your notebook. instead of a familiar spine, your fingers grazed a neon post-it that clung to the wood.

peeling it free, you squinted at the handwriting:

you're not as smart as you think.

you palmed it before sasha or mikasa on either side could see, the corner crumpling against your sweaty palm.

"and remember," the teacher resumed, glancing around the room,"anyone who doesn't turn in their homework will have to stay after school to finish it; it won't count toward your grade for this module otherwise."

the warning barely registered. your glare cut toward the source a few seats across. levi didn't even glance back.

thank god you didn't have a shift that afternoon.

wednesday

today's battlefield was the school council room, where levi had a presentation scheduled in front of every head of year, plus the headmaster himself. the stakes couldn't have been higher.
