Ch.11 | Boy, Boy, Pokémon?

"Fiiinally!" Rosa whined, pushing her visor up into its original position. The expected ache in her legs chose to make its appearance right at this moment. Scanning the area, her eyes locked on a bench nearby and she made her way over to it, plopping down. The view was simply a large pool of water with a gorgeous fountain in the very center.

The brunette debated on whether or not she should call someone while she rested. As she was reaching inside her bag, she heard a conversation from nearby. She craned her head, finding a boy with fluffy brown hair, the same color as hers, talking with two men (one dressed in black clothing and the other in white clothing). It didn't feel right to eavesdrop but something about that boy seemed familiar. 'You're probably going crazy.' She told herself, and just as she was about to turn around, the boy glanced over at her. He might have sensed her eyes on him. Rosa sheepishly smiled at him, but he waved her over. Curious as to what he wanted, she grabbed her bag and stood up to approach them. "Good afternoon." She greeted. "Sorry about the staring!"

"That's fine." When he smiled, Rosa nearly tripped over nothing. Could it be her imagination? The dude looked exactly like her! Ok, maybe not exactly, but it was weirdly close. No wonder she thought he looked familiar. "Do you know about the Gear Station?" He suddenly asked her.

"Hm? No, not really." The girl observed the two, quiet, men.

"It's where you have battles in a subway!" He cheerfully explained, reminding her a bit of Bianca. "I came here to test my skills, and what do ya know..." He looked over at the men as well. "The Subway Bosses are here!"

Rosa giggled at the way he was trying, and failing, to hide his fanboying. "I'm afraid I never heard of them before." She hated how clueless she was. Maybe television channels other than cartoons were a good thing after all.

The boy's jaw dropped in a comical manner. "Wh- What?! They're the strongest trainers in Gear Station!"

"O- Oh?" Rosa brought her hands up. He also reminded her of Hugh. "So, did you need me for something?" She recalled that he waved her over.

"Ah, right!" He calmed down then nodded to the Subway Bosses. "I want to battle them, but they said they'd only do it if it's two on two. You seem pretty tough, so," he put on a begging dog look, "help me out here?"

Rosa giggled before nodding. "I see no harm in helping you out." This really made his day.

"Thanks!" He grinned and pulled out a Pokéball. "Oh! The name's Nate!"

"And I'm Rosa." 'Nate...?' The brunette frowned for a moment. 'There is no way I'm crazy here...' Shaking her head, she and Nate took their spots across from the two men, leaving room for a battle. They introduced themselves as Ingo, the guy in black, and Emmet, the guy in white.

"This is gonna be sooo cool!" Rosa raised a brow at her partner, wondering if he was on a journey as well. You usually see this much excitement in a new trainer. Yes, she was also new, but she wasn't as excited as him.

"Having a battle in a place like this," Ingo looked around the street, finding a few people stopping to curiously watch, "is a little irregular, but this must've happened for a reason. Battling in a different place will let me see different scenery, and I might learn something too." His gaze moved to the other man. "Now, Emmet, if you have something to add, please."
