As Drayden had told her to wait outside, Rosa was doing just that. She shoved her hands into her jacket pockets while internally complaining about how cold it had gotten. Any breathy sigh of hers came out in puffs of air. Why was it taking so long for Drayden to come out?? She was relieved when she heard the door to the gym open and close as the man joined her in the cold. "Alright, follow me."

He led the way south of the gym before going in the direction of the pokémon center, only to take a right down a different path. Rosa kept up with him just fine but slowed down to admire a girl playing a flute. 'That must be where the tune was coming from...' The soothing sound made her eyelids close without the brunette's full consent. It was enough to make the unruliest of beings fall asleep. "This way." Rosa opened her eyes immediately at the gym leader's voice. He hadn't even turned around, yet he knew she was far behind.

The duo arrived at a slightly big and simple-looking house and entered, with Rosa being made to go in first. Drayden started to speak as soon as the door was closed. "It's a long story, but listen carefully."

"I have time." She responded while looking around the white room that held statues along the walls, as well as paintings. An Axew ran up to her and cried a greeting, to which Rosa smiled at. "Hi there!"

Drayden fixed up his tie for no complete reason, seemingly a habit, before beginning the story. "It was two years ago when the two dragon pokémon were awakened." Rosa glanced up at him before searching for a chair – sadly, finding none. Looks like they were standing. "The white dragon, Reshiram, sought what is true, with the desire to usher in a new world of goodness. And the black dragon, Zekrom, pursued what is ideal, with the desire to usher in a new world of hope. They were once a single pokémon."

"Hm... Why did they, uh... split?" The brunette frowned lightly as she took in the information.

"The single dragon had helped the twin heroes bring a new region into being, but the twin heroes – the younger brother who sought ideals and the older one who sought the truth – sundered the region in two as they fought to see which of them was right." Drayden looked over at a painting to his right that depicted two dragons in a ying and yang formation. "In that desperate hour, the single dragon split its body into a white pokémon and a black pokémon, even though ideals and truth don't need to be in opposition!" Eyes wide, Rosa watched the gym leader pace for a moment, the story riling him up. She understood. 'Why fight over something so... stupid? How selfish...' Her frown deepened throughout the minutes but she was unaware of the fact; her forehead likely had creases by now. "As the story goes, a third dragon, Kyurem, also came into existence in that era." Rosa pushed out of her mind as the name of the third pokémon caught her undivided attention. "There may be proof of this to be found in a treasure passed down in my family for generations: the DNA splicer."

"DNA splicer?" Odd word.

"Professor Juniper's research determined that the materials in the splicer dates back to the same era as the materials used in building the Dragonspiral Tower. It is stored very safely. I guard it because I don't know what kind of power might lie within it, but here's what's been bothering me..." Drayden trailed off with furrowed white brows. "Could there be one more dragon pokémon? Even if Kyurem really exists, we don't know what kind of pokémon it is." Axew glanced between the humans before sighing in boredom and heading upstairs. "For starters, the two pokémon the ancient one split into are both overwhelmingly powerful, so if Kyurem exists, could it just be a husk?"
