"How can I..." Blue eyes scanned every inch of the surrounding area for a sign of there being a shadow triad member. Although, Rosa thought, this could be impossible since they were, you know, ABLE TO TELEPORT. With a sigh, the brunette stopped on the path leading over to the pokémon center and craned her head left and right. Only when she took a glance toward the east terminal did she find what she had been searching for. A triad member stood there with eyes that gave away the smirk that his mask was concealing. "Hey! Hand over the DNA splicer, or else!" Rosa approached quickly with a straight posture, squaring her shoulders to appear intimidating.

This made the ninja snicker. "Or else?" Apparently, he found this to be hilarious, much to Rosa's dismay. "I'd like to see you try and take it back!" He released a Pawniard, commencing a battle.

Jano was quick to exit his poké ball and come to his trainer's aid. A leaf blade smacked away the smaller creature as it came at the Serperior with a faint attack, then was finished off with giga drain – Jano gaining some of his energy back. The shadow triad member angrily returned Pawniard to replace it with an Absol. "Slash!" It leaped at Jano with claws outstretched and ready to meet their mark, but Jano slithered under his opponent and caught Absol by wrapping himself around it; he began to squeeze tightly as the other pokémon gasped and attempted to free itself.

"Now, giga drain!" Rosa ordered, watching a green light surround both pokémon before Absol fell limp. The snake finally freed it and slithered away.

"Return..." The Plasma member hissed before switching poké balls for his last pokémon – another Pawniard. "Quick, faint attack!"

Jano launched himself at the Pawniard for a slam, but the other creature disappeared, the attack missing. It reappeared behind the snake and proceeded to swipe at him with bladed hands. At Rosa's command, Jano caught and coiled around his opponent, as with Absol, and drew the breath out of it until it disappeared like before. "Behind you! Dodge!" His trainer spotted a faint shadow of Pawniard behind her pokémon and warned him. Jano slipped away and spun himself around only for the blades to narrowly miss his face, yet still come in contact with his neck. "Leaf blade!" With a hiss, the Serperior's tail lit up a stunning green hue and sent the other creature flying into a sign, knocking it unconscious. Jano released a puff of air before returning to his trainer's side, receiving a deserved praise from her and she healed his scratches with a hyper potion.

Rosa lifted her gaze to the triad member once she caught his tisk. "Hate to say it, but you're a good trainer..." Once he returned his own pokémon, he crossed his arms and snickered. "But unlucky." The girl raised a brow.

"What do you mean?"

"I don't have the splicer." Rosa's jaw fell open. "I was just buying time for the others to escape. Cheerio, bye-bye, whatever~!" With a two-fingered salute, he disappeared in the blink of an eye with Rosa and Jano's wide gaze fixed on the spot he previously stood.

"Ah! No!" Rosa flinched when Drayden joined her, a glare following their gaze. She felt so awful right now.

"I... I'm so sorry, sir..." Her hands squeezed the life out of her bag as she looked at the ground, afraid to meet his intimidating eyes. "If only I defeated him quicker, o-or at least found the right one, then..."
