Georgia pov
I'm off to the store today. Going to try to get a job from Loretta and Mark Kent. I'm gonna use Maria Lopez as my name, but I'll tell them my real first name. When I got there I saw Greg "hello Greg."
"Hi, Georgia. Mrs and Mr Kent will see you now" he pointed at a door so I walked in.
"Ok. Thank you" i nodded and walked to the door then I knocked.
"Come in" a male's voice said. I opened the door.
"You must be the girl Greg was talking about. I'm Loretta Kent and this is my husband Mark."
"Nice to meet you"
"What's your name?"
"My birth parents gave me the name Georgia, but my parents who adopted me changed it to Maria Lopez"
"Nice to meet you Georgia" she smiled. "What makes you want to work here?"
"Well, I just moved to town and was looking for a job. Greg said that this would be a good place to try."
"Previous work experience?"
"I have worked at a grocery store and I've worked at a gas station before."
"Ok. We'll give you some thought"
"Thank you" they nodded and I left.
"How'd it go?" Greg asked.
"I think it went good."
"Good I see your truck's fixed"
"Daryl and Merle fixed it"
"Nice."
"Well, I'll see you later"
"Yep"
I left and I ran into someone as I walked out the door, this person knocked me down. I looked up to see Daryl there. He held his hand out but I stood up and pushed it away. I walked away. I need to keep from people getting to know me.
"Well ain't you crabby, sugartits?" Merle asked.
"Don't call me that" I said.
"Why not?" He licked his lips
"Do it again and I'll cut your tounge out. Feed it to some dogs"
"Don' threaten my brother" Daryl said.
"I'll do whatever I want"
"Whatever" he walked into the store Merle looked me up and down once more then followed Daryl.
I rolled my eyes and got into my truck. I tried starting it, didn't work. I tried this four times and it still didn't work. "Fffuuuuuuuuccccckkkkkk!" I got out and kicked the door "stupid ass truck"
"Won't start?" Mark said to me.
"Yep. Did the same thing yesterday. It's all I've got from my birth parent so I don't want to get rid of it"
"Ok. Did you try my son-in-law's shop?"
"Nope. The dixon's fixed it up yesterday"
"Ok." He pulled out his phone and called someone after he got off the phone he said "they'll be here for a minute and bring it to their shop. Might be a good idea to get a ride home and to town tomorrow"
"To get my truck?"
"Yep, and to go to your job"
"I got the job?"
"Yep"
"Thank you Mark"
"Anytime, Georgia Kent"
