I groan quietly as I fall on my butt and Fox licks my face happily. She knocks the empty mop bucket over with her tail and I pet her head, trying to calm her. "It's nice to see you, too, could you be any louder?" I whisper to her.
Mr. Hood let me in this morning and Calum was still asleep. That's okay with me, because I was feeling a little... awkward about the whole thing. He was surprised when he found out I wasn't a virgin, but he wasn't upset at all. I wasn't entirely new to the whole thing, I'd been with Laiken more than a couple times, but it had been a long time and I've lied to so many people about it. Not that it was any of their business anyway. On top of that, Calum was officially my boyfriend. What if he changes his mind about it? Or, more importantly, what if I change my mind about it? I doubt I would. The very thought of him made my heart flutter.
I stand, dusting myself off and I hear the bathroom door open down the hall, I didn't see him leave his room. He steps into view and holds his hand up to block the sun shining in the window. "Dad, it's so bright in here. It's like the sun is attacking our house." He says, walking over and closing the curtain. He turns around and jumps, squinting at me. "Whoa, you aren't my dad. It's so early, how are you alive?" He asks me as he walks over and wraps his arms around me and hugs me and I hug him back.
"I'm not a vampire, that's how." I say and he chuckles, rubbing his cheek against the top of my head.
"Wow, okay, it's just that the sun and I have a love-hate thing going on right now." He says. He releases me and walks to the kitchen.
"I'm begging you, do not make a mess or I will staple your toes to your forehead." I say calmly and he laughs.
"Emily, you ol' sweet talker you. You always know how to win a man over." He says sarcastically. "I'm not gonna make a mess, baby, and if I do I'll fix it." He says and he takes a banana out of the cabinet. "See, no mess." He says.
"Not even the tiniest speck of anything." I threaten him and he smiles.
"Not even the tiniest speck of anything? OCD much?" He mocks me and walks to his room, winking before shutting the door.
"Your dad has trouble with mess, mixes him up."
"Oh, boo hoo, dude." He scoffs.
After I am certain everything looks perfect and I'm sure he and Fox aren't going to go through like a tornado, he runs out and tackles me to the couch. He pins my hands to my sides and kisses lightly along my neck. "What are you doing?" I ask him, not exactly trying to push him away.
"I'm bored, you're here and I'm taking advantage of that," He says, stopping the trail under my ear. "What are you doing today?"
"Ash, Lily, and I were going to hang out at the mall, brain storm for the upcoming events." I say and he sits up.
"Making plans without me? How am I supposed to bother you constantly if you aren't around?"
"Come with me." I say simply and push him off so I can get up. I gather everything up and carry them to the kitchen. I walk over and put up the broom, leaving the supplies in the box on the counter.
"Ew, why?" He asks and frowns, the idea of hanging out with us mentally hurting him.
"So you can interact with my friends and other humans." I say and he scowls, shaking his head like a child. Then, he smirks and casually leaning on the counter, his hand flying out to the box on the counter, grabbing the edge until it is nearly falling off.
"Don't you dare!" I say and gasp. I take a step forward and it tips more. "Calum!" I whine.
"Come give me a kiss." He says. I go to make another step and he tips it again. "You better be quick." He laughs and I run forward, putting a hand on the tipping box, bringing my hand up and hitting him in the sack. He groans and laughs and he doubles over.
