26. An Evening Well Spent...

Gul's POV:

What a day! Correction, what a BIRTHDAY! I couldn't have imagined that I could ever have such a birthday in my entire life! I mean, I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that this was THE MOST amazing birthday I've had, because there was absolutely nothing usual about it. My friends have been really sweet and made it memorable before as well, but this time, it was completely different. Sanam, or rather I should say SANAM, gave me a birthday surprise! After what I had experienced tonight, I don't really think that I'm just their fan, like Sanam said. I'm definitely their friend and they sure treat me as one. Well, that's something every fangirl would want in her life; to be friends with her idol!!!! Alright, I need to control myself, fangirling needs to stop Gul! But I know that's not going to be easy! 😉

I sat in my bed with the lights off. Shipra was fast asleep in her bed as she had also been preparing all day for the surprise and was very tired. I was scrolling through the evening's photographs and thinking about the proceedings. Not only did I have a fantastic evening, but also a wonderful day. Sanam and I had enjoyed so much, that just made everything twice as special. I've realised that the more I spend time with him, the more I'm comfortable with my own self. The way he looks at me, I can't help but be myself; no formalities. But somehow reality drags me back to earth and reminds me that he's supposed to be a celebrity, and I'm just a fan. As I was thinking all this, I could here his voice in my head saying:

"Can you try and stop believing that you're a fan and I'm your idol?"

I wish I could tell him that I already do, it's just my annoying conscience that doesn't let me live life my way.

"I consider you as my friend, can you do the same for me??"

Of course I do, Sanam! You're such an adorable friend... There's no doubt that I consider you my friend!

I realised that I had been speaking out loud. I had almost awoken Shipra, who was now partially asleep and mumbling, "Kya hua? Kaun hai? Gul, kisse baat kar rahi hai Tu? {What happened? Who's there? Gul, who are you talking to?}"

"Koi nahi... Tu so jaa... {No one... You go off to sleep... }"

Well, I think I was losing it, so I went off to sleep.

*NEXT DAY*

I had college, and in the morning I saw the notification of '#SANAMsingle releasing today' on facebook. As usual, I was hyper all morning and afternoon. I knew they'd release it in the evening, and I had to go to the jam room too. On my way, I kept struggling with my data connection, which was very poor and was irritating me to bits. I didn't want to miss the song or the live chat. I just hoped and prayed that I would reach there before the song release. As soon as I reached, I entered the jam room and was welcomed with confused glares of everyone when I entered and exclaimed:

Me: "Guys guys guys! Do you guys have Wi-Fi here? I need the password, NOW!!!" I may have sounded like a maniac, but all I wanted was to be online when they release the song. Oops!

They all looked at me as if I was out of my senses. But there was only one of them who was laughing like crazy; Sanam Puri. Had to be, since he was the only one who realised that I was back to being the usual fangirl I was, without keeping in mind the fact that I was with the VERY band and the song would be released in front of me!!!
