It was the evening of the day of the battle of Hogwarts. Teddy was 14 and moping for his parents. He had taken a stroll and was wandering down the muggle village. Victoire was with the Weasleys, it was a strict family ritual that they all attended - The Burrow to mourn Fred. George never recovered for several days - kids always knew the shop was closed those days - They would hear the sobbing.
But Teddy didn't join them. He had his own to mourn, and Fred was one of them, but he preferred to mourn in peace.
"Mum, Dad. Why did you have to die?" Teddy sobbed. He didn't know that a few years later, when he was married, he would be doing this with Victoire at his side, completed drowned in firewhisky and cursing the death eaters. But he was still 14, and he was heart-broken. Of course Harry and Ginny had been great replacement parents, but his parents sounded amazing. Sure, Remus was a werewolf and Tonks was related to many dark families, but everyone had their flaws.
He wandered along in the forest and heard a ruff.
"Ruff! Ruff! Ruff!" The dog called. It was a stray puppy - with hair the exact shade of his father's and was tiny.
"Merlin." Teddy sat down and patted the dog.

When Teddy got home that day, he brought the dog with him. Lily, James, Albus and Harry fell in love with it, but Ginny wasn't convinced.
"A dog? In my clean house?"
"What do you mean clean? We have James living in our house!" Lily complained. James smiled smugly.
"I know, and you aren't a teenager, James! You should know better! Teddy is the cleanest-"
"Ginny, please, I'm-"
"No, Teddy. You are a perfect role model and the boys could learn from you."
"Let's talk about the dog," Teddy distracted her. Truth was, the untidiness was in his wardrobe.
"Yes, yes."
"A dog is a man's best friend, Ginny!"
Teddy turned his face into a dog- that same dog, and said, "Please? I'm just a little puppy."
"Fine. He can stay. What should we name him?"
"Jamesisthebest." James suggested.
"Honey." Albus smiled.
"Toffee."Lily added.
"Hinny." Harry shrugged.
"Alilames -Albus, James and Lily." Ginny suggested.
"No, no. I've got it." Teddy smiled sadly. All eyes turned to him.
"Moony."
