Everyone had decided that Rose would become Minister when she was older.
She was trapped.
She didn't want that to be her life. She wanted to be free.
So she fell back from the starlight, and others took her place.
Rose knew, though, who the best person would be.
She had two people as candidates.
Teddy Lupin, and Hugo.
Teddy because he was a Head Boy, a Hufflepuff, had a traumatic past, was well known, was kind, brave, cunning and smart in all the right ways. He was the epitome of a Minister for Magic.
And then there was Hugo. The shy candidate, who has just as much potential.
He had been backed into a corner, too. Now was his time to shine, but he was unsure. His Mum and Rose coached him into being a god Minister.
Teddy Lupin got the role, in the end. But he announced something - something that had never happened before.
"I want to share this job, part time. And who better to do it with than my fellow candidate and relative, Hugo Weasley?"
Hugo was amazed - he had his chance.
And it was better - working as a pair. They levelled each other out - when one was crazy, the other was not. This led them to make excellent decisions for the wizarding world.
Rose had her life, with Scorpius, and Hugo wasn't sitting in the sidelines. It had all worked out, just from a little bit of encouragement.
