Chapter 8: Second Single

"Okay," the head of the record label said, starting our meeting, "how many songs do you have?"

"Thirteen," I answered.

"Thirteen? Perfect. Now I heard you also do an acoustic version of Ferris Wheel sometimes, is that right?"

"Yeah," Jason said, "it sounds awesome. We don't perform it much though."

"Do you want to include that too?" he asked, "Ferris Wheel is a hit so I think the fans would like it."

"Yeah," I said, "we'd love to include it."

"Great," he said, "now here's what I'm thinking: start recording and doing photoshoots now and we'll get the rest of the record label to work on an album design. What about an album name? Have you guys discussed that?"

"Yes," Beth said, "and we think the title of it should be Rising Up."

"I love it!" My manager, Olivia said.

"I do too," he said, "we'll start tomorrow and give me your copy of your songs."

I handed him the folder that I made this morning with all of our songs on it and he left the room. "You guys are going to amazing!" Olivia said, "You are going to go so far."

"We just started," Grace said, "how can you already tell?"

"Because I've been a manager for a lot of people," she said, "the Lily Rosebuds already have MILLIONS of fans and you've already been on tour. Fans are going to go crazy when your album finally comes out."

"This is incredible," Max said, "Can you guys believe that just last year we were in Michigan attending college?"

"Seems like yesterday," Jason said, "but now we're living the dream."

"We owe it to you, Lily," Beth said.

"Me?" I asked, confused. How did I do all this?

"Yeah," Max said, "you took our project to a whole other level with your singing. Pure genius."

"And natural talent," Adrian finished.

"Okay so do we have anything else planned for today?" I asked.

"Not that I can see on the schedule," Olivia said, "but you guys still haven't talked about what you want your second official single to be."

"Right..."

"I have an idea," Adrian said, "what about that song Bully Aid? I mean bullying is a really big issue right now. Maybe it would be good to have that be a good single?"
