Lily Marie Rose: EXPOSED! Cause of her own dad’s death?
It was the title of the newest hate article about me written by Lily. The bad one I’ve been expecting. I started reading through it while our bodyguard was driving to Lily’s Parents’ house.
I’ve known Lily Rose for most of my life, and sometimes she is what all of you think of her, but what about the other side? Who is she really behind it all? A phony. A fake. The Lily Rose I knew in school wasn’t just a rebel, she was scary. Dark makeup and clothes all the time; everyone talked about how emo she was. Not even I knew some of her dark secrets until years later. The bipolar, the cutting, and arguing with her parents; it really doesn’t come to a surprise to me when I found out about her dad’s death. Shortly before he was in the car accident, he had a fight with Lily. She wasn’t even living in the same house as them. That’s how bad their relationship was. Everyone thinks they know Lily, but the truth is: they only know parts of her. She has hundreds of dark secrets that she doesn’t reveal to anyone. Is it still safe that she’s in a business like this claiming to be helping other people? Especially since she’s still dealing with problems she claims to be helping them from. Things are never as they seem.
“I can’t believe this,” I muttered. I handed the article over to Taylor so he could read it too.
A minute later, he set the paper down, “It’s ridiculous.”
“I know it is.”
“Hopefully we get down to the bottom of everything at her parents’ house.”
“I hope so,” I said, “Because I really don’t know what’s happening with her. First she claims she just wants to visit, then she’s staying, and now she’s getting a job writing trash about me.”
“Why is Seventeen still posting it then?” Taylor asked.
“They actually post readers’ comments after the article to see how many people believe it. They post the good comments to use it to boost my reputation, not tear it down. Apparently most of the readers think it’s all fake anyway. One of the comments even said something bad about Abby.”
“Like what?”
“They think she’s some jealous ex-classmate who can’t get over the fact that I’m famous. They actually really hate her for it right now. I don’t understand why she’s still writing the articles if so many people don’t believe it in the first place.”
“Maybe she can’t help it.”
“Maybe,” I replied, “But I doubt it. She knows what she’s doing. I can see it. I just don’t know what exactly that is.”
