Chapter 24: Best Friend Robbery

“What do you want?” I asked her, “Don’t you think you’ve done enough already?”

“You really showed me at that interview huh?” she replied, “Pretending I’m not there and telling people that you don’t want to give me more fame. Good one.”

“It’s true,” I told her, “You don’t deserve fame just because you’re talking bad about me.”

“Who are you?”

“I was about to ask you the same thing.”

Abby shook her head, “You don’t even see it do you? What this place has done to you? I don’t even recognize you anymore and that’s sad because we’ve been friends for years.”

“And I don’t recognize you!” I yelled back, “Who cares how long we’ve been friends. This place changes everybody in some way. It’s even changing you.”

“I haven’t changed, you’re the one who’s changed!”

“Really?” I asked, “Because the Abby that I met in high school would have sold me out like that? I recall in the 11th grade when who purposely told off Greg and DIDN’T sell me out. So you really haven’t changed?”

“That’s different.”

“No it’s not,” I quickly replied, “You just want it to be different. You’ve been here a few weeks and you’re already ready to sell out anybody you have to in order to get a story and make some money. At least I’m trying to do something good with my life. I get to wake up every day and do something that I love. The fact that it’s made me so famous is just a bonus and it’s a lot harder than you think it is.”

“Don’t you think I can find that out for myself?”

“Obviously not! The ones who are really successful and have a long career are the ones who are just doing what they love to do. They don’t try to hurt anyone, they try to help people. The people who are just looking for fame and money, aren’t going to last. People are going to forget them as fast as they came. If you really think you’re that much better than me, then leave.”

“What?”

“You heard me,” I said, “You’re not welcome here anymore. I don’t appreciate letting someone stay in my house just so they can talk trash and make me a story. You have until tomorrow to find a place to stay at.”

“But Lily-“

“No,” I interrupted, “One day. That’s it.”

I couldn’t tell what she was thinking. It was sad, but it didn’t look like she was showing any emotion as I walked up to my room. I grabbed my camera and my laptop before walking back out and going up to the photography room. If I knew her at all, I know that if she’s that angry, she knows the photography room is the one place to get back at me. I made sure to lock the door behind me before walking up the stairs. Luckily she wasn’t there so I sat down in the chair and logged onto my blog to add some photos. I learned a while ago to stop reading the comments on all the photos because there were too many of them. I loaded some of them I took while Demi and I were messing around today and added captions to how fun I thought the shoot was. After a half hour of going through and editing my blog, I set my laptop down and took out my camera. I held it up and started taking pictures of the room. I sat down on the ledge by the window and snapped a couple pictures before falling asleep again.
