Bodies lay clad in iron scattered across the once brilliant and lush land, torn asunder by a passing storm of darkness and malice.High upon a hill far in the distance, is the only place untouched by this passing curse, it's land still lush, beautiful clouds hang above it as beams of sunlight creep down from the tears. A sound of jubilant music and the smell of a feast lingers in the air as the unknowing majority of people party in the town square. Yet, the storm of darkness approached the innocent people, ready to take them into the unknown. Two men sat on the balcony of the towering castle watching the people, observing the massive shadow that crept towards them. Shadow, a tall strong willed person with the heart of a child and Gabriel, a short stalky fellow with the same will and same heart if not stronger.
"It's wonderful that they throw such a party to celebrate our crowning Gabriel"
"Yes shadow, it's wonderful that they would, although they do not know of the impending doom approaching us at such a slow pace."
"Yea, i hope they make a camp and remove that silly cloak of smog they hold around themselves"
"Shadow, we were taught as children that they wont remove the smog, but they always take break before they assault a foe."
Shadow took a moment to contemplate before responding "I think we should fight back" He was met with a quick response "I think we should to, but, are we to send our men out to die without guidance?"
Shadow walked towards the door "Personally, i believe we shouldn't let our people fall to the hands of something so putrid, no matter the costs, they will be safe behind the castle walls if we must bring them here then so be it."
Gabriel stood up and walked by Shadow "Then we should probably get started." He grinned.
The two cheery kings walked down the steps into the large corridor and geared up, Shadow had a long slender blade quick and nimble made to rip through the foe, and Gabriel, a long Helix edge paired with a shield. Each wore heavy armour made from the finest steal in the area. They proudly walked out to the square, Gabriel bellowed "Everyone, if you would so kindly re direct yourself to the castle, the celebration will continue there!" Quickly, the crowd ran to the castle bringing everything they could from the ale they drank to the food they ate, there games and musical instruments. Quickly, they voided the square of there presence.
"Our next step should be getting the military together" Shadow chuckled. They walked down the main road towards the barracks, few people weren't attending the celebration. Oddly enough the general haden't shown up, Shadow and Gabriel both had come to the conclusion that he knew of the danger approaching them. After around five minuets of walking they found there way into the barracks, it seemed empty yet the sound of a man whittling away at something was clear.
"General Lucious" Gabriel chuckled "ah, my lords, what if i may ask do you need of me?" he quickly responded and set down his knife and the piece of wood it seemed he was whittling into a bell. "It's Gabriel, and Shadow Lucious, we'd prefer you just call us by our first name we don't care for titles". Gabriel responded quickly and sternly. "That my lord would be dis respectful" Shadow interviened "it's not disrespectful to us, if we ask you to do such." "And we need you to prepare your army without alerting the civilians, we won't need any more chaos then whats about to befall upon us." The general cocked his head to the side "so you know?"
The general stood up and walked to the window with a cold eerie presence around him "Thaddious's army is approaching."
General Lucious sounded the meeting bell for the soldiers, they came one by one down the stairs quickly from the castle.
"One thing though Gabriel, Shadow, How are we to hurt these beasts when we have nothing that is divine, we have no light to push the darkness away?" General Lucious held a great amount of concern for just this matter.
"We honestly don't know" They said at the same time, "So you expect me to send my men out there and die, without a way to even fight back? That's literally just as bad as sitting here and letting them pick the flesh off our bones." General Lucious was enraged at the thought in general.
"Who do we know, that's got more light in his soul than any person in the town?" Lucious asked, "Well, the Impatient swordsman, supposedly was a divine warrior at some point." Shadow responded quickly. "That old bag, the one that sits at the pub drunk all the time?" "Yes!" Shadow Grinned ear to ear, Gabriel and Shadow walked to the door "Oh yea, have your troops prepared to train, we have one day."
