They rushed from the chamber with the healing spring, hurrying down the halls of the ancient place they were being sought out in. No noise emitted within the chamber, the air was perfectly fine, although you'd expect it to be stagnant, as it is underground the village beneith anticipated this and build ventalation ducts. Which were, really just columns with holes in them.

Shadow looked around for a light, but none were seen. "Wait.. how can he see in the dark, if it's dark?" Gabriel stopped looked at the wall and started pondering, "Good point.." X stopped as well, Shadow held out his sword expecting his soul to shine and light up the darkness, "nope.. it's not natural darkness.." X looked at the blade that emitted no light.

"hmm.." Gabriel approached Shadow, "Come to think of it, I cannot see your soul, but I can see his.." He walked past Shadow. "Lets go then, we don't have long and fighting that man in the dark may be... dangerous" Shadow walked with X and Shadow down the seemingly endless passageway.

"Ahahahah..." a laugh emitted through the tunnel, it seemed as if it were comming from infront of them, they stopped, "No, I'm not there, I'm over here.." This time it sounded like he was behind them. His image, a glowing green soul, green eyes appeared infront of them, Behind them, each time laughing.

"Stop." Shadow stabbed forward and it cut through the image like it was nonexsistant.

"You see, all of your attempts at this, are going to end in failure, I am the games master, the master hunter, I play the game, You are my prey..." He laughed like a madman.

"So.. please.. keep stumbling so I can hurt you.. kick you while you're down!" X heard the sound of the air being shredded behind them, she drew her swift longswords and blocked an arrow that was aimed for the back of Gabriels head.

"Oh.. a swift one eh?.." he paused for a second, "no matter, I'll not miss a second time." The air, sounded like the storm outside as the gleam of a thousand tips, silver in the night, arrows they all flew at the three from one direction. X drew her buster sword and smashed into the wall, grabbed Shadow and Gabriel and held them tight.

"Damnit, I never miss.." he cursed aloud, "sigh.. you aren't the stupidest pray I presume.."

"Well, if you seek out the soul strenghthening powers of these ruins it seems you've lost your chance, for what I seek, was lain to rest there, meet me? We'll play more.." He chuckled. "Oh yea... it's actually in the direction I am, not the one you so mindlessly followed, please, turn around I'll no longer shoot at you, no... I'd wrather kill you with the Hammer itself.." the sound of footsteps and silence followed by one last word "Game.." and then, nothing.

"We need to move, Now, there's no telling when that bastard will be retuning, I say, we go for it, rush him.." Gabriel forced his way out of X's grasp. "Lets go then!" He ran down the hallway, X let go of Shadow and rushed after him, Shadow turned and followed. "What the hell is happening here.." Gabriel thought to himself, they walked onwards, passing the hole X had previously made, and entered a room, were a single torch sat dead center.

"hmm.." X looked at the torch, cut the wood holding it up dropping it to the ground, nothing happened.

"Hm?" Gabriel looked at her, "We never know, what could be reality or mimicry, not at a time like this.." She felt as if she looked stupid "Good point" Gabriel grinned. They stumbled, for several minuets down the Labryinth halls, a truely pointless journy X thought, she had an idea though.. "Wait.." X spoke coldly.

"What, if this is all an illusion.." She looked at Shadow and Gabriel.

"That would prove a valid depiciton of what's going on, no light can be smothered by the dark that's not how the scales of equilibrium work." Shadow had a cold look on his face, "I agree with you guys, it seems that we're just wandering around in our heads." Gabriel looked at the ground.
