They stood in a triangle, fighting swiftly not holding back, when they felt weak they would drink from the pool of water that healed them, they had noticed, that the air alone was full of the weakening water vapour so they didn't need to even stand in it. They struck eachother full force, laying several gashes with weakened souls, even then they managed to really hurt eachother, the more they went at it, the stronger Shadow and Gabriels souls got. The change was noticeable, their blades glowed brightly, their aura's started to appear, it seemd half light, half dark, the aura alone managed to force the air around them back. X's soul, was getting stronger too, it was frightening to see a massive aura of silver around her at all times, but Gabriel didn't mind. Shadow really didn't care in general, the hunters soul was perfectly green, almost as if he was the wind itself.
"Oh.. I can teach you magic too, some magic, because I think, that the drain here is no longer adequate to strenghten our souls, however we could be strong enough to take on even Djevara!." X smiled.
"That'd be wonderful" Shadow replied.
"Shadow, you seem to have adapted to duel weilding so quickly." Gabriel noticed this during the fight, that he had started off already proficient at it.
"I dunno, it seems right, like I can evenly flow with it." Shadow grinned.
"We should get Gabriel a shield that is powered by his soul, the soul of a protector, it would be inpenitrable." X giggled.
"Before I teach you this though, I want to know, how did you recover earlier so quickly Gabriel?" X inquired, "Well, I had a mouthfull of that water and he smashed me in the head with the hammer forcing me to swallow it.
"Oh" she laughed, "Well, this is a Silver magic, most do not know of, and Most cannot preform." She drew a runic symbol on the wall, in the shape of an upside down Y. The silver magic rooted a flower. "This is the lyrical symbol of life, it is said that anyone who needs it, could restore the life to a thousand lost cities in a single symbol." She smiled, unsure as to why she showed them this in particular. They turned around for a moment, they thought that they had heard an echo... and the hunters body was gone.
"What.. wasn't he?" X let worry overcome her for a few minuets "uh.. guys he's not there.."
"yea, we know, he vanished when we were talking earlier."
"He was just playing, a child at heart, he didn't really fight us at his full strength."
They were speaking in a rythm, one after the other nearly in sync as if they had completed eachothers full sentance.
"Well.. you're not worried?" She asked.
"nah, he's a faery." Gabriel smiled
"Oh haha.." She was still concerned.
"Didn't you say this place, was virtually useless to us now?" Shadow studied the runic symbol, "lyrical..." he thought to himself.
He memorized the runic symbol, Gabriel and X walked out of the room holding hands while Shadow made up the excuse "I'm going to get some of this miricle water, I'll catch up.".
Instead, he drank from the pool, filled every cantine and jug he managed to carry around which was a whole, two cantines, and he drew the symbol on the ground. His aura resembled the color of the magic, that flowed evenly between he and the Symbol. "Silver magic... cooresponds deeply with the soul?" he questioned it, he could feel it reaching into his soul, asking what he had wanted, simply he stated, a rose. and such, a rose grew, several actually, one blue, one red, one white.. He just stood still, in awe. X poked her head around the bend, saw the roses and dropped her silence, "you did it" her eyes were open wide.
