Gabriel and Shadow awoke the next dawn, they noticed the clouds had parted over there kingdom, yet remained over the torn lands.

"Ah you two are awake!" Leif chuckled.

"Yea, but before we set out we have some questions, and we'd like to get something to eat first." Shadow smiled.

Gabriel quickly started asking questions "So, why did our swords melt on that mans armor?"

Leif took a second to come up with the answer "Well, his armor is forged from the hottest of fire, found deep within the core of the world, held within the mother of dragons belly." "It's compounded of the souls of hundreds of dragons, and the hearts as well, no normal weapon can scratch his armor."

Shadow followed up with a question "When his blade of crimson entered my flesh I felt a massive presence it felt as if, well a thousand men were kicking me."

Leif chuckled "That's a weapon empowered by his soul, which in turns is the soul of a reaper in a way, he consumes the souls of many each furthermore strengthening his own." "Since his soul is so powerful, it tends to offset battles horribly."

"Ah, could you get them breakfast?" Leif asked an armored woman, "Yes of course" she walked away with great haste.

"Well, we felt like pushovers in that fight, we could hardly harm the feeble troops without that divine light by our side." Gabriel frowned.

"No, pushovers?" "No.. You are stronger then any warrior I've seen with hearts as pure as the light itself, you may even be better warriors at a default, then Thaddious ever was and will be"

The response befuddled Shadow and Gabriel.

"Thaddious eats worlds, he takes the souls of others to gain strength, granted he was a mighty warrior before his heart became corrupt he lacks the three true strengths.

"strength of the mind, The will, And the soul."

"Each of these, will overcome any given brawn alone but when paired together you truly can overcome any challenge, and you two seem to have... all three, stronger than any of my paladins."

Leif smiled "Your breakfast will be ready, Anything else you wanted to know?"

Shadow had one last question

"Yes, when we struck there armor why did our swords bounce off?" "Well, there armor is pure darkness, there's not much that will touch anything behind it, a soul of might or light can easily pierce it's defenses yet steel, nor iron ever will."

With all of there questions answered Gabriel and Shadow stood up and got ready, then they walked out to eat breakfast, eggs and cheese were prepared for them, as well as fine bread and high grade wine.

"After you are done eating, I will ask you to meet me outside the castle gates. I will be leaving my right hand soldier here, and three diviners to keep the plague like darkness from creeping unto the town." Leif stepped out of the inn.

Shadow and Gabriel laughed as they ate "So, Thaddious is really just a swordsman who started eating souls?" Shadow replied with a cocky attitude "Yea, obviously not a decent one, since he was taken down with one shot of a hammer."

Gabriel laughed "But I doubt he was even ten percent his regular strength"

Shadow replied "Sadly, it seemed that was more than ten percent of us."

They finished eating and left the inn, walking up the square they noticed it had returned to it's jubilant state of cheerful laughter and harmonious life. Almost as if they were innocent children, yet they all knew what had occurred the night before, they just wished to enjoy there lives.
