Chapter 15, The impending storm

Issac moved with great pace towards the city, he managed to get to the front gate with but minuets to spare as the shadow approached at a considerably faster pace then what it had before.

"No good.." Issac looked into the heart of the storm, it pierced the clouds the smog grew with every passing second.

"He's only getting stronger.." Issac rushed Shadow and Gabriel into the Inn, blood stained the floors from their recent exploits within it. He mixed together a tonic, it was foul and as the droplet touched Gabriel's lip he sat up only to vomit on the floor, "Yea good, wake up, feed this stuff to Shadow." Issac rushed out of the inn prepared to fight off his brother.

"Shadowwww" "Urggg" Gabriel panted as he couldn't stop vomiting. He forced the tonic into Shadows mouth, he sat up and gagged at the stuff cursing, "The hell is that?" He looked around to see four different bottles of alcohol laying on their sides and a box of herbs that Issac had tossed together.

"Were's Issac?" Shadow looked at his sick friend.

"He ran Urrgggg"

"He ran outside."

Gabriel sat on a chair with a barrel continuously getting sick, Shadow left him with a bottle of water and some bread only to rush out himself. Shadow looked at the walls of the city, the smog rushed over them and entered the city. Issac stood before the fog wall, it halted at him he retched out and touched it and as he did it fluctuated violently.

"Thaddious, I'm calling out your pitiful generals, and you we're going to stop this right here and right now I'm sick of dealing with your trifle attempts to attain great power, just come out and face your fate!" Issac shouted at the top of his lungs.

"Fine." Thaddious shouted back, his voice had gained even more strength even further depth he had clearly been eating more souls. From the smoke, three warriors, Equinox, Thaddious and Another rushed at Issac. The newest warrior, general Espial (Es-pea-al) failed to Issacs blade within seconds of being near him, Issac kicked Espials knee forcing his leg to go numb, he then smashed his blades into his neck decapitating the new general.

"That was a new one." Issac turned to Equinox, who was rampantly swinging at him with his crimson long sword, "You decided to return to Thaddious.." Issac chuckled. Thaddious swung at Issac, he dodged skillfully and swiftly, "Now troops!" Thaddious cried out. The smog vanished, thousands of troops had left a crater in the wall, allowing them all to rush in. Dark wraiths, swordsman, even dark knights rushed through, some alive some dead. Thousands of men, ready to kill Issac, Shadow rushed out without noticing Gabriels slow staggering approach on a different road. Issac was matched with Thaddious on one side, Equinox on the other and he was surrounded by a circle of troops whom swung their spears rampantly at him.

Issac drew a symbol on the ground, "Retreat momentarily!" Thaddious cried out as he swung at Issac. The symbol wasn't what Thaddious had expected, he thought that Issac was going to send out a silver pulse, rather than the pillar of silver that he cast. It penetrated Equinox whom kicked Thaddious out of the way, killing him.

"Issac!" Shadow yelled, the running troops rushed at him, Shadow drew his blades and rushed at them slowly picking them off one by one, Gabriel had managed to do the same on the path he was in.

"Prepare yourself Thaddious!" Issac stabbed forward and Thaddious vanished into the smog, it expanded over the area leaving everyone but he and his troops blind. Shadow, enraged by his dis-honor cast a fire ball and expended well over three forth(s) of his soul into its power, lobbed it into the crowd were Issac was. The firey explosion spread the smog out leaving a single second of vision. Yet, all that Shadow could see were the men he just killed and Issac playfully dodging his brothers attacks and Magic, Gabriel stumbled through the crowd oddly untouched.

Havoc in the city, released at the side of it not a single person wasn't crying out, screams of the murdered and raped were echoing throughout Issacs head. Issac raised dodged Thaddious's aerial attack and kicked him across the ground, Issac raised his hand up high and the smog seemed to dissipate into an orb. Issac crushed it beneath his foot, "There goes your pitiful magic." Issac grinned.

"Bothersome brother." Thaddious looked around, he saw Gabriel staggering towards him killing any given troop he could. Issac stared at Shadow whom was killing anything and everything in his path, he had finally destroyed the blockade of fleeing troops, Shadow looked over to See Gabriel staggering towards Thaddious.

"I don't care if im sleeping, i'll be damned if I let you live!" Gabriel shouted out.

"Hmm." Thaddious looked at him, he lifted his finger and shot a liquid silver ray at Gabriel, "No!" Shadow yelled, he rushed into the way of the attack only to look at Gabriel, smile and hold up his thumb.

"You've got this!" Shadow chuckled as his body dissipated from the powerful magic that had just killed him.

"Shadow.." Gabriel looked at the de-materializing fragments that floated in the sky..

 It took a few moments, for Gabriel to realize that his best friend was murdered by Thaddious, Issac had seen it too and he stopped fighting, Thaddious just grinned. Troops around the city continued their rampage.

"So brother, do you understand that your attempts are feeble?" Thaddious looked at Issac with a horrible twisted grin.

"Yes.. I understand.." Issac said as he put his weapons away.

"Boy, go home.." Thaddious bellowed at Gabriel.

"I will kill you.." Gabriels rage kicked in, his face turned red from the anger that flowed through him, he rushed at Thaddious and brought a blow down with all of his might.

Issac stood infront of Thaddious and held his blades in the air, Gabriels mighty blow dropped them to the ground and imbedded them in the dirt.

"Go Home Gabriel..." Issac growled.

"You don't have purpose, Shadow is gone, you have nothing to do, the only hope you'd even have is that book he carried and that's not even here.." Issac winked.

"I'm going to join my brother, just leave, leave now return to Saria and enjoy the last little bit of life you have left!"

Issac smiled and winked again.

"Oh.." single tear ran down Gabriels face at the loss of his friend, "Thaddious I will get strong, I will take you down." Gabriel bellowed, he vanished in a poof of silver magic.

Gabriel re-appeared in the inn and scavenged through his friends possessions, he found the book of the great crystal and a map that Shadow had drawn, south of the city were they once were, where shadow had attained the Nexus of water there was a cave.

Gabriel picked up the Nexus of water, "Good now they have a reason to come for me." he grinned and teleported away, the last thought on his mind was his best friend fading away from his eyes...
