The walk up the stairs seemed to be less tedious then it did the first two times which should be expected. "You know, I've never felt enlightened when i walked these steps" The blind warrior had stopped moving. "I guess it's because my soul is just too dark to lighten up" a tear ran down his face. A lot had been on his mind in the last few days, Shadow and Gabriel both saw it in his eyes, but didn't want to ask nor pry.
"What's wrong?" Gabriel asked.
"Yeah what's been bugging you?"
Shadow quickly asked after.
"We won't talk about it yet, not quite.." He stumbled up the steps.
"We?" Shadow and Gabriel looked at eachother. "He surely doesn't just mean us, he wouldn't have said it like it was he and another.." Shadow felt concerned. They caught up to him and poked his sides "Oi cheer up" Gabriel chuckled.
The air was cut by an ominous aura, the soul of the blind warrior suddenly turned pitch black. "Thaddious, oh brother, hear me, calm thine rage, let yourself live, another day.." He coughed, hit the ground and lay there staring at the steps.
"What's wrong?" Gabriel asked, they were quick to rush to the warriors aid but the warrior just grunted.
"My past, is too dark to relive." He lay there muttering things for three minuets stood up and walked twenty steps only to fall again.
"Is it odd, we can see his soul and we've not underwent any training?" Gabriel asked.
"Nah, we're some legendary race anyways, i can't wait to use some silver magic" Shadow laughed.
"Nope, you won't be learning that... Not from me.." The blind warrior stopped in his tracks, turned around and had the coldest look on his face. "Not me, not ever.." He turned and opened the door, Shadow nor Gabriel hadn't realized they had retched the top. By the time they had noticed they were already at the Tower of Trials entrance.
"Open the door, i can't."
They simply stated what a paladin wishes for the most, the door opened and the blind warrior stepped in, they followed.
Instead of the terrain being a wonderful land, full of lush life and beautiful butterflies it was barren, a dried cracked wasteland.
"Uh... the scenory changed?" Shadow was confused about it, not normally would something so miraculous die so quickly.
"It changes based on the first entrants feelings, emotions, their soul." The blind warrior drew his blades.
"Come at me." He stated, Shadow and Gabriel quickly drew theirs and rushed at him, he didn't hesitate to slightly evade there attacks and smash there heads with the butt of his swords. "Again" He said impatiently, "oww.. wait a second." Gabriel looked at him "Again is said." He rushed at them, kicked Shadows legs out from under him, smashed his arm into Shadows stomach, and then smashed the side of Gabriels head with the butt of his sword again.
"You can't let something, knock you down so easily, let alone so many times so quickly, is this how you expect to face Thaddious!?" He bellowed.
"Stand up!'
"Stand up now! We will do this a thousand times over if we have too."
They stood up and every time they did they were cast down again.
"You're teaching us nothing, quit being an ass" Shadow yelled at him.
"What did you say to me you insolent little pup?" The blind warrior yelled back, he rushed over to Shadow and started knocking the hell out of him.
