Vicki was perched on Noah's bed as she had been that morning, but now the only reason her cheeks were damp was because she was just out of the shower. Knowing that Audrey wasn't a murderer seemed to set everything that was wrong with the world back into place. Even though she knew that she wasn't okay, she was deciding to focus on the positives.
Noah had offered that the girl should record a podcast with him that night, but she had a slight suspicion he was worried that she would carry out her original plans for the evening.
Which was to kill herself.
"Testing. Testing" he spoke into the mic, checking that it still worked "Welcome to The Morgue"
Before he could continue someone walked into the room, making both of their heads snap up in surprise.
Audrey.
She stood hesitantly by the door, her eyes low and mournful. Yet there was a calmness about her movements that showed determination. She was here to set things right.
"I thought you were going home" Noah murmured.
"I was..." She walked in slowly, glancing at Vicki as she passed her "but if I don't tell you this tonight, I may never be able to"
"Okay, go" Noah sat back in his seat, nodding his head.
Audrey closed his bedroom door quickly, so Marie wouldn't overhear them, before taking her spot once again in the middle of the room.
"I know why the killer is after me" she started to wander, finding it easier not to look at either of them whilst she spoke "He knows what I've done and that I would do anything to keep it secret"
She inhaled sharply when she looked up at the murder board, noticing her photograph as Prime Suspect. She paused for a few seconds, trying to find a way the courage to confess as she played with her hands.
"I brought Piper to Lakewood"
Vicki felt a chill run up her spine at the mere mention of her name. Noah looked taken aback but didn't say anything.
"I was so alone and-and-and pissed off at the world, so..." she sat down next to Vicki, seeking comfort and forgiveness "I found Piper. I wrote her letters. I begged her to come to Lakewood and...help me research for a documentary about Brandon James. The thing about Brandon is, he may have looked different, but he wasn't a monster. He was like me. He was alone, rejected, and angry"
Vicki reached out and slipped her hand into hers, giving it a gentle squeeze. The two shared a small look before Audrey continued.
"It was Lakewood that turned him into a monster. When people started dying, Piper swore to me that it wasn't her, and I believed her, and now...now, I'm paying my mistakes...for all that blood. I deserve this"
Noah stood up from his chair and walked over to them.
"If you believe that, then Piper and this sicko win" He spoke confidently, shaking his before moving to hold them both "You're not a monster, Audrey. And you're not a magnet for death, Vic. You're victims"
