After a failed attempt to go back to school, the gang had decided that it was best to just take all their work home and not properly go back until the next semester. This meant that most days they would meet together to "study", where you can imagine that anything but studying actually happened.

About a week after the final battle they were in the Foster home, the moon high in the dark sky, watching ironically a new horror movie. Having lived through similar experiences, one would have thought that they would avoid the topic as best as they could. But in a strange turn of events, they had found it was rather fun to criticise the actions of characters in said films.

"Ugh" Noah threw himself dramatically back in his chair "It's so obviously the boyfriend, come on guys"

Vicki laughed at his frustration, pulling the blanket more over her and the sleeping Audrey. The girl had nodded off around half an hour into the film, cuddling into Vicki for a source of warmth. It was clear that she hadn't been sleeping well, due to the large bags under her eyes and the way she always seemed to be yawning. Vicki felt for her, as she had went through a period of time where she was the exact same. Her sleeping habits had improved slightly since the killings ended, but most nights she was haunted by nightmares. However she was used to a certain lack of rest, unlike Audrey.

The ginger gently played with the girl's hair as a character on the screen let out a loud scream, trying to keep her calm and not frighten her. It seemed to work, as she merely twitched slightly and pulled her friend closer.

"No don't-why would you walk towards the creepy sound?" Noah groaned "Are you kidding me?"

"I'm rooting for the killer now, to be honest" Jake joked, shoving some popcorn in his mouth "Stupid bitch"

"High pressure situation, guys" Vicki argued, keeping her voice quiet so she didn't disturb Audrey "Everyone acts like an idiot under stress"

"We didn't" Brooke smiled proudly "We survived"

"Just" Kieran spoke up "It could have gone a lot different, we got lucky"

He had been rather quiet since Emma had left for her retreat. It seemed the whole thing had messed her up bad, and she needed a break to get back to her old self. Because of this, the two had called off their relationship briefly, and she had cut off almost all contact from the group. They were all missing her presence but it had the biggest impact on Kieran by far.

"I'm just glad it's over" Jake pressed a kiss on Brooke's head "And that we get to sit and do nothing all day"

Vicki rolled her eyes at the boy's attitude but couldn't hide the smile from her face all the same. The two now had a mutual respect for the other and were no longer constantly at each other's throats, which had helped the group dynamic quite a bit. They weren't the best of friends but it wasn't as hostile between them as it used to be. After all, Jake had saved her life.

"For gods- oh here we go" Noah huffed, watching bitterly as the main character called out for her boyfriend.

"Calm down buddy" Vicki giggled at his red face "It's just a film"
