She carried anger inside her
like something alive beneath her skin.
It boiled through her bones quietly,
until even breathing
felt violent.
And when they asked what was wrong,
she could never explain it properly.
How do you describe
a pain that does not bleed,
but still tears through you
like claws beneath your ribs?
Her vision blurred red.
Something inside her kept screaming,
even when no sound
escaped her mouth.
Her hands curled into fists,
teeth pressed together so tightly
it felt like she was trying
to keep herself
from splitting open.
Because beneath all that anger
there was still fear.
Still grief.
Still the unbearable feeling
of being wounded
in places no one could see.
And sometimes,
when the hurt became too heavy to carry,
she wanted the whole world
to feel as ruined as she did.
