Every time she saw him smile,
something inside her softened
before she even understood why.

Even if their paths crossed once in a while,
she fell a little harder every single time.

He noticed her often.
Not loudly, not obviously—
but in the way his eyes always lingered
a little longer than they should.

He wished she would see him
the way he saw her:
something worth holding onto,
something quietly precious.

She felt safe when he was near,
like she could face the world without any fear.
she really wanted to hold his hand, to stay with him in the lonely dark nights.

He wanted to kiss her, to hold her in his arms. her beautiful soul was a constellation from above, keeping him awake making him feel less alone.

They were both falling.
Both believing.
Both reaching.

And everything almost made sense...

If only they were talking
about the same person.
