"How about this one?""Try another outfit."
"This one?" You prayed silently that he would choose.
"Nope, try again." He smirked with mischief gleaming in his eyes, pushing his glasses back up the bridge of his nose.
You and Teddy have always been best friends. That's why you needed his advice, and his only, to help you pick an outfit for your first date with your boyfriend, Billy.
At first, Teddy tried to reject it, but reluctantly agreed to help you, blushing when you smiled and hugged him.
"Teddy, why won't you choose?! It's almost time for me to go! Billy said he'd pick me up at 8' o clock and take me to the Blue Point Diner!
His smirk disappeared immediately, and turned into a frown. He rolled his eyes, and mumbled something that you couldn't hear.
"What is it, Teddy?"
"I said pick the first outfit you showed me. Geez..." He grumbled annoyingly as you went back behind the curtain and changed.
By the time you were out and ready, which wasn't long, you smiled for him.
But Teddy wasn't there.
"Teddy?"
You go downstairs, only to see Billy come by and hold out a bouquet of flowers to you.
"These are for you."
"Oh, thank you!" You quickly put them in the dresser, and closed the door behind you, walking with Billy hand in hand.
As you two make your way towards the diner, you can't help but wonder where Teddy had gone.
"It's a beautiful night, isn't it (Y/N)?" Billy asks.
"Mm hm, yes it is..." Your attention wasn't exactly on Billy.
I hope Teddy shows up, I think he's mad at me.
****
You and Billy have a great dinner, with candles decorating the table, and a milkshake to share afterwards, you couldn't ask for anything else.
The only thing that did bother you was that Teddy never showed up anywhere, not even at the treehouse that they passed when Billy walked you home.
"I hope you had fun," said Billy.
"I did. Thank you so much."
Really wanting for him to leave, you pecked him on the cheek, leaving him blushing as he walked away.
After two minutes, you get changed into jeans and a T-shirt and run out to look for Teddy, converses pounding on the road as you call out his name.
"TEDDY! TEDDY DUCHAMP!"
No answer.
That is, until you hear some sniffling.
You softly walk towards the noise, only to find Teddy crying, head in his hands, and his glasses next to him.
"Teddy?"
He looks up and scowls slightly at you, shaking his head back and forth.
"I thought you liked me, (Y/N)..."
Oh my god.
Teddy got up and sniffled again as he blinked away the runaway tears from his eyes, breathing heavily.
"I'm sorry that you need to see me like this. I don't mean to look like a pussy."
You smile, "Teddy, it's okay. You want to know something?"
He looked up, eyes focused on you.
"Yeah, what is it?"
"I like you too."
"But, what about Billy?"
"We'll work it out. Don't worry."
He smiles, pressed his lips against yours, ever so slightly.
"I know we will."
