*you're a waitress at the Blue Point Diner

The Blue Point Diner was completely packed, every booth and table full with families and couples.

Slipping past a crowd of busboys and waiters, you served the elderly couple in front of you, and went to fetch your notepad for the next table's orders.

A group of guys about your age gathered around the booth, and looked up at you.

"All righty then, what'll it be?" You wait for their answers, not looking from your paper.

"Your number, babe."

The guys around him laugh. You look up from your notepad and suddenly realize who's hitting on you. A bleached blonde haired guy who has been the most popular delinquent for years.

Ace Merril.

For the longest time, you have heard rumors about him at your high school, and whether the stories were about him making out with some blonde chick, or beating up someone, you tried to stay away from him as much as possible.

Keep it cool (Y/N), keep it cool....

"I won't be taking that into consideration," You say, having the urge to move to the next table, "So, what will you be having?"

Ace smirked and nodded towards the boys around him. "We'll all have a coke, and a large order of fries."

"Coming right up."

{an hour later...}

The cool summer breeze hits you as soon as you step outside the diner. You made plenty of tips and successfully dodged Ace and his gang, persuading another waitress to serve them.

You light up a cigarette and blow out the smoke, watching it curl and disappear, and enjoying the peace and quiet of Castle Rock.

"You still didn't give me your number, y'know..."

You jump, and turn to see Ace against a wall, arms crossed, his eyebrow lightly raised.

"Sorry, honey, it's not gonna happen. Go find someone else to suck face with."

In three strides, Ace has his tan forearms around you, his smirk deepening and his eyes full of amusement as you struggle to get out of his grip.

"If I were you," He says, "I'd give the number already."

"What if I said no?"

He pulls you closer, smiling. "I don't take no for an answer, sweetheart."
