Another school day passed by as you dropped your backpack near your feet and head to the bathroom.

Turning on the light, and looking in the mirror, you can't even begin to list the many flaws about you.

You hated it all. The acne on your face, the crazy hair, and the body that you have. You wished you could get rid of all the fat from your frame.

You wished that you could be prettier. That much is obvious.

You also wished that you could stop thinking of Richard "Eyeball" Chambers.

The crush is mutual, but everyday, your daydreams fill up with the imaginary story of Richard noticing you and loving you.

But it hasn't happened. Everyday, you go into class and sit up straight and raise your hand, giving the teachers and everybody else what they want.

And yet, you never get what you want. Richard is never in class. And when he is, he just puts his head down on the desk, and sleeps, or is kicked out soon after.

His tousled brown hair, his vivid green eyes, and his toned and chiseled features are all part of what your affections crave.

Of course, you don't kid yourself. The flaws you have merely make your chances of interacting with Richard even more slim than your acne getting better.

Shattered glass, shattered even more. That's the story of your life. With every blow, there's an insult to your injury, an extra sneer against your simpering.

The only thing that keeps you afloat would be your writing that you kept in a little red notebook.

Poems, memoirs, diary entries, you name it: all of it poured out of your heart and soul like tea from a kettle.

And a lot of it was related to Eyeball. Of course, it was just your own little secret. But secrets always have a way of coming out, don't they?

You were sitting in the schoolyard, writing in your little red notebook when Richard came out with his friends.

Hiding in your notebook, you took all caution to make sure that he wouldn't see you blushing.

But you were too slow, and Eyeball just happened to find you staring.

"What are you staring at, (Y/L/N)?"

You pretended not to hear him as he walked quickly over to you and snatched your notebook from your tight grasp.

Heart leaping, you tried to get it back, but he tossed it to Ace Merrill, his best friend.

"What's the matter, (Y/L/N)? Keeping secrets won't do you any good," jeered Eyeball.

Ace opened up the notebook and your heart dropped. He started to laugh, and so did the other guys.

Eyeball glared back at them.

"The fuck are you guys laughing about?"

Ace looked at you, shocked.

"Who knew that such a good girl could write this stuff? Eyeball, she's writing about you!"

Before Richard could react, you shove him out of the way and kick Ace hard in the crotch, taking your notebook.

"Holy shit!"

While everyone was crowding around Ace in the schoolyard, you were running back inside the school with tears of embarrassment in your eyes.

How could everything go so wrong in one day?
