Hearing the door slam once again, you knew Leon was home.
Sighing, you set your laptop down on the coffee table, your work would have to wait. Your boyfriend ignored you as he walked behind the couch and down the hallway.
Pushing yourself off the couch, you followed him into your bedroom. You leaned up against the door frame and silently watched as Leon paced around the room grumbling German cuss words. He pealed his white t-shirt off and threw in the general direction of the dirty clothes hamper. Normally you would have marveled over his toned body, but now you could barely even make eye contact. "Leon," His head snapped to look at you before resuming pacing. "Leon, talk to me. What's wrong?" You walked over to him and stopped him from pacing. You reached out and grabbed his hand, but he snatched it back. That was the first time you had had actual physical contact with Leon in three days and he pulled away, making your eyes drop to the floor for a second.
There was a long pause before he spoke. "Are you cheating on me?" He asked, searching your eyes for an answer.
You were shocked. Never once in your year and half with Leon did ever you cheat. "Leo, no, why would you ever think that?" You asked softly. You reached out for his hand again, but this time he just turned away and went to the window.
"Don't lie to me Y/N, I know you've been with him." He grumbled.
You sighed and ran your fingers through your hair. "Who, babe, who is 'him'? Because I've only ever been with you." You said, getting frustrated.
"The guy down the hall! I know you've been with him, I know it. Every time he sees you he sends you this awful smirk, like he's thinking about what you've done and you always smile back." He turned back to you, his eyes darkening. You knew you were in for yet another fight.
"I smile at everyone, it's the polite thing to do." You huffed.
"You must be polite to a lot of guys then, huh?" He spat.
"I-" You started, but you couldn't find the right words say, in fact you couldn't find any words to say at all.
"If it makes you feel any better I cheated on you too." His words were like a shot to the heart. Tears sprung to your eyes and it was your turn to turn away from him. You didn't want him to see you cry, you didn't want him to know how much he really hurt you. You had never loved anyone like you had loved Leon before. You had thought he was it for you, but now you weren't so sure.
"Okay."
"That's it? That's all you can say? '
"Okay?'" It was like he was upset you didn't say more.
"I don't know what you want me to say, I have nothing else to say. You hurt me, Leon." You finished, turning to face him. His eyes softened when he saw your tears, but only for a second.
"You don't think you hurt me?" His voice grew louder as he spoke. He was angry and hurt, although he no right to be though. "I loved you, Y/N. It kills me to know you've been with another man."
"I never cheated on you. I love you far too much to hurt you like that. Obviously the same doesn't go for you." His face softened when he realized you were telling the truth. You turned around to walk away, but Leon grabbed your wrist, spinning you back around face him.
"Please don't leave me, Y/N. I'm sorry, I never wanted to hurt you." He pleaded, tears filling his own eyes.
"Then why did you?" You pulled your hand away and waited for his answer.
"I just thought you were cheating on me." He whimpered.
"Exactly, Leon. You thought. You thought I was cheating on you, and I thought you loved me. Looks like we were both wrong." You shook your head sadly before walking out of the room. Your words froze him, he watched you walk out the front door with car keys in hand.
