I tap my fingers on the counter top nervously. Tyler was going to be knocking on my door any second. I clutched the cold glass try and keep my hands from sweating. "It's just a date, Lindsay, chill out." I mumbled to myself.

There was a knock at the door and I scrambled to answer it, tripping along the way. After pushing myself up from the ground and adjusting my dress, I answered the door. Tyler was standing there in a white button down with the sleeves rolled up and a nice pair of jeans.  And damn, d. "Hi." He said, a bright smile finding its way onto his lips.

"Hey." I smiled back and straightened up a little bit to make myself seem a little taller, even though it didn't really help.

"How's your head?" Tyler asked, concern laced through his voice.

"It's good, a little sore." I replied, going back to the moment that got me the date with Tyler.

"Come on Lindsay, come skate with us!" Jamie called from the ice. I groaned loudly, making sure they heard me. I pushed myself up from the bench and stepped onto the ice.

"You owe me, Jamie!" You yelled across the ice to the captain.

"No, it's called having fun! If anything, you owe me!" I heard the familiar sound of a stick connecting with a puck, then, boom, I was on the ice. An agonizing headache spread through my head and I started seeing spots.

"Lindsay!" I heard the sound of skates rapidly getting closer until there were six pairs of eyes looking down at me. "Are you okay?" Katie asked.

"Probably not. I've got a major migraine." I mumbled, closing my eyes to block out the bright light.

It was silent for awhile and all I heard was ringing in my ears. "I'll take her to the hospital." A male voice said. I was lifted off the ice and placed on my feet. With Tyler on my right and Jamie on my left, I made my way to the bench. Tyler took off my skates before taking off his own. He squated down in front of me and rested his hand on my knee for balance. It drove me crazy, but I tried to focus on something else.

"How many fingers am I holding up?" Tyler asked.

I tried focusing on how many fingers he was holding up, but I was dizzy and everything was double. "Uh, I would say six, but you don't have that many fingers on one hand." I replied.

"Let's get you to the hospital." Tyler picked me up and carried me out to his Jeep. Even with Tyler's terrible driving, we made it to the hospital safely.

They got me in right away and had a CT scan done relatively quick. As we were waiting on the results Tyler grabbed my hand. "I'm sorry, Lindsay. I was messing around with Sharpy and I didn't see you." He whispered solemnly.

"Hey, it's okay Ty, it happens sometimes," I reassured him. "you just owe me now." I joked.

"Would a date be enough?"

"Are you ready?" Tyler asked, bringing you back from staring at his face.

"Yeah, let's go." I grabbed my cardigan from the coat rack and slipped it on. Tyler grabbed my hand and we walked out together.

"I know it sounds bad, but I'm actually kinda glad I hit you in the head with a slapshot." I looked at him in confusion. How could he be happy that he bruised my brain? "I never would have worked up the courage to ask you out if I hadn't. It's weird for me. You make my stomach do flips and my mind goes fuzzy when you're around, that's never happened to me before." He explained nervously.

I didn't waste anytime reaching up and kissing him. Who knew one -bad- concussion could bring two people together?
