Book 2: Chapter 13

A/N.... Since there are now 2 Graces in the story, I will use Grace for Danny/Jesse's daughter and Gracie for Jesses friend from the navy.

The entire next week was spent planning the wedding. Things between Steve and I were still icy but I was too excited to care. Danny and Steve immediately went back to being their normal selves as if the incident hadn't happened but I still felt angry with him. Finally the day that Gracie came home arrived. I took the day off to go to the airport. I got there at exactly 8:30 and her flight was to arrive at 9. I waited until finally i saw a bunch of people in blue camo fatigues walking out. I quickly spotted Gracie and ran to her. We wrapped our arms around each other, happy to be reunited.
Me: So what do you want to do?
Gracie: Do you have a wedding dress yet?
Me: No the one I wore in Vegas is ripped apparently.
Gracie: Well we should go find you a dress.
Me: Sounds good to me. Then later me you Danny and Steve can go to dinner together.
Gracie: Alright. So what were you thinking? David's Bridal? Seems like that's your best option to me.
Me: Exactly what I was going to say. It's just a few minutes from here.
Gracie and I got into my car and drove to the bridal shop. After hours and hours of trying to find the right dress, I finally found one that was perfect. It was ivory colored with off the shoulder capped sleeves, lace, and a mermaid style skirt. It was absolutely gorgeous and on sale. I made the purchase along with a pair of ivory pumps. By the time we had finished, it was nearly 8 pm. I called Danny from the car and asked him if he and Steve wanted to go out to eat.
Danny: Sure where do you want to go?
We finally decided on a place to eat and the four of us were seated at a nice quiet booth. Steve an Gracie really seemed to be hitting it off. I was glad. Since I found out they knew each other while still overseas, I'd been waiting for the perfect time to set them up. After finally finishing dinner, we walked outside.
Steve: Do you need a ride to your hotel or anything?
Gracie: Oh are you sure? I don't want to be bother.
Danny and I exchanged glances. I was grinning from ear to ear.
Steve: Oh it's not a bother. Come on.
Steve began walking to his truck and Gracie followed. Danny and I were left alone. I put my arms around his neck.
Me: So I got a dress today.
Danny: I'm sure you looked absolutely beautiful in it.
My face turned red and I couldn't help but smile. I kissed him on the cheek.
Me: I have some paperwork I have to drop off I'll see you when I get home okay?
Danny: Okay.
He smiled and we walked to our cars. I drove to HPD to put in my official application to rejoin 5-0. After that, I drove home. When I got there, all the lights were off outside. It was odd considering that Danny usually left the porch light on for when we had to take the dog out if it was dark outside. I got out my keys and unlocked the door. As soon as I opened the door, I was greeted by a path of flower petals lined in little candles. The pathway led through the back door which was open and all the way down to our beach. I followed the path, my hand over my mouth in awe and tears welling in my eyes. As I reached the end of the path, I turned to see Danny. He walked closer to me. He grabbed the hand I wasn't using to cover my mouth.
Danny: Jesse McGarrett, ever since I laid eyes on you for the first time, I have loved you with all of my heart. I loved you before you left but while you were gone, I realized just how much I love you. Losing you made me realize that I can't live without you so...
He dropped to one knee and pulled out a small black box.
Danny: Will you marry me... again? For real this time?
I laughed through my tears of joy and nodded my head. He slipped the ring on my finger and stood up. I wrapped my arms around him and kissed him. After we pulled away, I grabbed his hands and looked him in the eye.
Me: Daniel Williams, I would love nothing more than to be your wife... again.
We laughed together and walked hand and hand inside to the couch. We spent the night watching old movies. After 2 movies, we went upstairs to go to sleep. I had to make sure and get a good night's rest. Tomorrow would be a stressful and exciting day full of wedding planning with Gracie and Kono.
