Doctors appointment

I couldn't believe what had just happened. I was so happy! We called the team through video chat and broke the news. Since Catherine and Steve were the only ones who knew, we also told everyone else about the baby.  After the video call, Danny and I went outside to the hammock that was hanging on the porch of the resort house. When we were laying down, Danny put his hand in my stomach.

Danny: When will we know what this little baby will be?

Me: I have a doctors appointment on Sunday at 3. They said they'll tell then.

Danny: I want to come with you. Can I?

I smiled.

Me: Of course you can!

Danny smiled and kissed the top of my head. I laid my head on his chest. The rest of the weekend was pretty relaxing.  We both needed that. On Sunday, we went back to Oahu. We arrived around 1:30. Since my appointment wasn't until 3, we went to eat at a small pizza parlor near the doctors office. We ordered the pizza and sat down. While we waited we talked about the baby.

Me: So what do you think it's going to be?

Danny: Honestly? I have no clue.

Me: Me either. I'm really excited though. How are you going to tell Grace?

Danny: I don't know.

Finally the food arrived. We ate and then went to the doctors office. As soon as they called my name to go back, I got butterflies. Danny and I walked back, hand in hand. As soon as the doctor came into the room, he told me to sit down on the bed while he looked at a computer screen. At the exact second he turned around, my curiosity got the best of me.

Me: What's it gonna be?

Doctor: Don't worry. You'll find out here in a few minutes. You'll be happy to know that your babies are very healthy.

Me: Oh well that's good... Wait what?!?! Do you say "babies?" As in plural? As in more than one?

Doctor: That's right! You're having twins! Congratulations!
