Book 2: Chapter 16

Danny: Jesse Max has to examine the body. How about me and you can go inside and wait okay?
He grabbed my hand and pulled me up to my feet.
Me: No.
Danny: Jesse it's for the best. Come on.
I jerked free of his grip and yelled.
Me: I SAID NO.
Everyone turned to look at the two of us. I began crying again. I laid my head on Danny's shoulder. He wrapped his arms around me and held me tight. I finally gave in and went inside. A few moments later Steve walked in with Gracie. She was crying too.
Steve: Hey it's gonna be okay. We're gonna find whoever did this and make them pay.
Gracie hugged him and he hugged her back. In an effort to comfort her, he kissed the top of her head.
Steve: I need to get back out there and try to see if we have any leads. I'm making this case our number one priority. I promise whoever did this won't get away with it.
Gracie and Steve kissed and Steve went back outside. As Danny, Gracie and I sat there, my phone suddenly rang.
Me: Hello?
Person: Ah. Jesse McGarrett. Why so sad? Oh wait. That's right. It's because I jut killed your best friend and stuffed her in your trunk.
Me: I swear to god I'm gonna find you. And when I do you'll be begging me to kill you.
The man on the other end of the line laughed.
Person: I'm going to do the same thing you did to me. I'm going to take everyone you've ever cared about away from you.
Me: del Sandimar. You bastard. I'm coming for you.
del Sandimar: Your twins. They have your eyes.
The line went dead.
Me: Danny the kids. We have to get to the kids.
I jumped up and grabbed Danny's keys. I couldn't take my car but I could take his which was just as fast. I loaded my gun and jumped into his car. As I started the engine and was about to pull out, Danny climbed in the passenger seat.
Danny: Jesse what's wrong?
I pulled out of the driveway so fast the tires squealed.
I flipped on the sirens and went pedal to the medal down the street.
Me: Castillo Valero del Sandimar. He was a notorious arms dealer based in Mexico. He was caught aiding and supplying the enemy. I was one of the pilots assigned to take him out. I was told to drop a bomb on his home and that he would be the only one there. Turned out it was exactly the opposite. All of his family was there except him. His kids, his wife, his brothers and sisters, his parents. He hasn't been detected since.
Danny: Why are you telling me all this?
Me: He was the one who called. He said he was going to take everyone I care about away from me. He started with Calleigh and then said "your twins have your eyes."
Danny: Oh my god.
Danny loaded his gun as well and we slipped on our Kevlar vests. A second later we pulled into Grover and his wife's house. I sprinted to the door and knocked. Renee answered.
Renee: Jesse is something wrong?
Me: Where are the kids?
Renee: Grace and Charlie are in the living room and the twins are napping upstairs. Why?
I didn't answer I just sprinted up the stairs. I found the room where the twins slept. There stood Castillo over the bed. I pointed my gun at him but before I could pull the trigger he jumped out the open window. He hit the ground and ran.
Me: Danny check on the twins. I'm going after him.
I jumped out the window and sprinted after him. Castillo was quick but not quick enough. I saw him duck behind a corner. I quietly snuck up on him. Before he had the chance to shoot first, I put two in his stomach. I waited until Steve and the others got there.
Me: Let's see if you can still take anyone else from me now that you're gonna bleed out and die. When Steve pulled up along with Max to treat his GSWs,  I went directly back to the Grover household. When I walked through the front door Danny began shouting my name. It sounded like he was crying. What could be wrong? I ran up the stairs to find Danny doing CPR on Alison who was laying unmoving on the floor.
Me: No. No no no. God no he didn't. Stupid bastard.
I broke down into tears.
Me: Here let me take over. 1...2...3...
Danny: Jesse.
Me: It's okay baby girl you're going to be okay. It's all okay.
Danny: Jesse stop.
Me: 10...11...12...
Danny grabbed my arm and pulled me backwards wrapping me in his arms. I screamed and punched the floor. Renee came running up the stairs.
Renee: What's going.....
Then she noticed Alison's tiny body on the floor.
Renee: Oh my god. What happened? I'm so sorry. This is all my fault.
Danny: No it's not your fault. You couldn't have known what was going to happen.
I wrestled loose from Danny's arms and ran down the stairs. I could hear Grace shouting my name asking me what happened. I ignored it. I blocked everything out. I ran back to where I had shot Castillo. Max was stopping Castillo's bleeding alongside Steve and the rest of 5-0.
Me: Max move.
Max: I'm sorry Lieutenant Williams I can't do that.
Me: Max you better get the hell out of the way.
Max moved. Castillo laid there chocking on his own blood. He laughed.
Castillo: Told...hfff.. you I would...hfff...take everything you loved.
I kicked him right in the stomach. He laughed. I continued to kick him until two strong arms grabbed ahold of me. I was so angry I couldn't hear what was being shouted at me. It all blended together. I struggled and fought to free myself from Steve who was pulling me back but kept kicking Castillo. Finally I wasn't able to fight Steve off any longer. He dragged me backwards away from Castillo. All I could hear was my screams and Castillo's laughter. I looked down and realized that my shoe was covered in blood. I suddenly collapsed on the ground. I was going into shock. The last thing I felt before passing out was someone wiping away the blood from my shoes to cover up what I had done. Then everything went black.
