It's now 12 weeks later. The twins are doing great. Grace and Charlie love them. It was the day I was to get deployed for my last mission. I suited up in my dress whites. Danny, Grace, Charlie, the twins, Steve, Catherine, Chin, Kono, Grover, Kamekona, Max, and Jerry all came with me to the airbase to say goodbye. I didn't want to leave my family, but there was a dangerous terrorist who needed to be apprehended to secure the safety of America. I hugged everyone and held the twins for the last time before I left and then walked off into a place where my survival was not certain. The only certain thing was that this was a tough day.
15 hours later............ Back at the base in Kabul
This was where it all started. The commander took me into his office and gave me strict orders to return home. I remembered that day. How could I ever forget? It was the day I had met the love of my life. The team commander filled us in on the operation. We spent 5 months and 2 weeks training. We were ready. I was in charge of handling Duke, a German Shepherd who was helping the team. It was the day of the op. Adrenaline was pumping through me. That night, we loaded into a helicopter. We went into the building in which the target was located. Guns blazed. Finally we were all leaving when a teenage boy walked up to me.
SEAL member: C'mon Jesse. Let's go!
Suddenly, I realized the boy had something in his hand, but it was too late. Duke tried to get me out of there, but I shoved him away with all my might. The boy pushed the red button on top or the remote. Everything went black. I never woke up again.
