Thin Air ✿ Jeff Atkins [COMPLETED]

TWENTY THREE

JEFF's POV*

I covered Josie's bare chest when I saw her shiver slightly, kissing her forehead as she slept.

She nuzzled her head in my chest, making me smile and begin to trace gentle figures on her warm back.

Last night, after we left the restaurant, we cruised around in my car, got ice cream then went to my house to have some very lovely time then we slept after chatting about the upcoming school year and making plans for it. Eventful.

"I don't mind waking up like that everyday." I heard Josie mutter, tilting her head upwards and kissing my neck (which still had visible love bites I may add).

I chuckled, moving my hand from her back to her hair, playing with it, "You and I, baby. You and I." I kissed her head.

"I can't believe we have school tomorrow." Josie groaned, rolling off of my chest and lying on her back, holding the black cover up her chest and looking at me with pouty lips.

I leaned down, giving her lips a peck, "Stop frowning. We're going to have so much fun this year."

"Why are you so excited about this year? You're beginning to creep me out, Atkins."

"Because," I sucked a breath, "I don't know really. I just feel like something big is going to happen."

"Alright, Shawn Mendes."

"What?" I furrowed my eyebrows.

She chuckled, "Never mind."

I beeped, signaling my arrival to Josie. It was the first day back to school and I was picking her up. I looked at her door, seeing her rush out, looking effortlessly gorgeous in a casual outfit.

She smiled as she jogged to the car, getting inside and sitting in the passenger seat. She fastened her seatbelt before leaning towards me, making us kiss.

"Good morning." I smiled.

"Good morning, number 12."

*JOSIE's POV*

Jeff and I smiled at everyone who smiled our way, walking down the hallway hand in hand.

"There is my power couple!" Zach grinned our way, which made me chuckle.

"Why do we not look like them? George, why do we not look like them?" I heard a girl complain, looking beside me to see a guy with a bored expression looking at Jeff and I, his -obviously- girlfriend ranting. I gave him an empathetic smile which he returned as a grin.

"When you look like Josie Blair, I'll consider being Jeff Atkins." He replied which made me laugh, earning a confused look from Jeff. I shook my head, wrapping my arm around his torso.

"I'm gonna go see Gina and Dinah." I said, standing on my tippy toes to give Jeff a quick peck.

He nodded, rubbing my arm up and down, "I'll see you in lunch?"

"Got it. Bye!" I waved before rushing towards Gina and Dinah who were waiting for me.

"Hey, Josie. You look great," Jess smiled as we waited for our English teacher.

"Thanks, Jess. So do you." I smiled at her as she sat in the empty desk beside me.

"Are you coming to my party? You're coming whether you like it or not but still, are you?"

I laughed, "I'm coming. This Friday, right?"

She nodded, "Right."

"Okay, class." We heard the teacher's voice, making everyone adjust in their desks.

English went by quickly and so did physics, before I know it, it was lunch break. I sat with Gina and Dinah, discussing our day so far.

"I hate Mr. Williams. It's the first day and I'm already questioning how am I going to have to listen to his stupid voice during the year." Gina said, a frown on her face as she basically stabbed her mashed potatoes with her fork.

"Drop his subject?" I suggested, eating my chicken sandwich that mom made.

"I can't." She groaned.

I felt someone wrap their arms around my shoulder and a kiss on my cheek. Didn't take long to know that it was Jeff. I turned my head sideways, smiling when I saw him, greeting him with a kiss. "How's your day so far?"

I shrugged, "Not bad actually. How's yours?"

He smiled, pecking my lips again, "Amazing."

He sat beside me, already in his signature baseball jacket. I gave him the sandwich my mom made for him which was like mine and he gave me a grateful and excited smile before taking a bite. "So, what were you girls talking about?"

"Just about Mr. Williams and how I'm this close," Gina put her thumb and pointer finger together, leaving very little space between them, "to castrate him."

"Woah, G." Dinah laughed, shaking her head.

"Ah, he's not so nice, I know that." Jeff nodded.

Gina only frowned before drinking her apple juice.

"Are you girls going to Jess's party?" Jeff asked them.

"Hell yes. Nobody misses the first party of the year." Gina grinned.

"I'm going, too, yeah." Dinah said.

"Great! We'll see you girls there then." Jeff grinned, wrapping his arm around my shoulders.
