Josie sat in the open field. The open field of daisies. Smiling as the air hit her skin gently, almost hearing hers and Jeff's laughter, imagining them chasing and tackling each other, hearing Jeff say that he loves her. One more time.

She stared at the sky, smiling at it before getting inside of her car and driving to her next destination.

She reached it. The cemetery. She walked carefully down the way, spotting where he lied.

Jeffery Atkins
1998-2017
Loving son, student and lover.
May his soul rest in peace.

She sat down, placing a single daisy on the ground, running her hands through the short grass.

"Hey, baby," She smiled softly, her tears beginning to fall, "It has been two weeks now. I'm not coping but I'm trying. You see, Jeff," She sniffled, crossing her legs, "I think that's a very unfair plan but I get it. God wants you to be with him but what about me, Jeff? What do I get? Because so far, I only got a broken heart and memories. Are you happy?

I know that it wasn't your fault. You see, I have theory, baby. I think someone hit the stop sign and you just didn't see it. But that's just my theory. But I do know that you weren't drunk. I know that," She sniffled, wiping her tears with her sleeve, "You know who else has been broken? Clay. I saw him the other day, we didn't talk. Just sat there, doing nothing. I think we both need comfort, we found you after all," She shook her head, beginning to sob,

"And it's a sight I will never forget, Jeff. I held you. You died loved, Jeff. And I can't help but think that maybe you weren't dead when we found you, when I held you, maybe you died when I was holding you, took your last breath with me. I took my last breath too, Jeff. I don't feel alive anymore, I'm holding on to the thought of you and you-you're not here." She sniffled.

"I want you to know that I will always love you. You are the most amazing guy I have ever and will ever see, Jeff Atkins."

That night, Josie sat in her room, curled in a ball on her bed, hugging Jeff's jacket as she lied in his tshirt. A loud knock on her door alerted her, before her mom barged into the room, a scared expression on her face.

"Honey? It's Hannah. She's in the hospital." With that, Josie jumped up, throwing on a pair of sweatpants and quickly putting on her converse, running down the stairs and into the passenger seat, her mom driving towards the hospital.

"Hannah Baker! I'm looking for Hannah Baker," Josie panted, trying to catch her breath as she stared at the receptionist.

"Third floor, 106." The nurse said calmly.

Josie and her mother ran towards the elevator, Kelsey pressing the button to the third floor, waiting impatiently. With the elevator's ding, they rushed outside, jogging down the hallway, reading the numbers.

Josie spotted Andrew, Hannah's dad, crying on the floor, she kneeled down, already sobbing, "What happened? Where is she?"

"She died. My girl died. She-She died." Andrew cried.

Josie shook her head, standing up and backing away from him till her back hit the wall, "No..No, she can't be dead. She-She looked fine. No! No, not her too! I can't lose her too!"

"She committed suicide, Josie! Slit her wrists!" Andrew screamed out.

Josie's eyes widened in horror, falling to the ground.
