"Are you nervous?" Josie asked Jeff, adjusting his helmet in the boys' lockers room that was empty from boys.

"Not really. I got you, don't I?" Jeff smiled, tightening his arms around her waist which made her giggle.

"I'll cheer for you so loud you'll be embarrassed to be seen with me." She joked, putting her hands on his chest.

Jeff rolled his eyes playfully, "I will never be embarrassed to be seen with you."

"You always know what to say, don't you?" Josie chuckled before pecking his lips.

"Atkins! Come on!" They both heard the coach, "And Blair, we could use some cheering. Let's go!"

Josie blushed in embarrassment, "Does everyone remember last year's game?" She groaned.

"I think they do, babe." Jeff laughed before giving her a kiss. "Sit somewhere I can see you, alright?"

"I'm sitting close to the field. Now go, I have to rush back to my place. Good luck, Jeff Atkins." She kissed his cheek before freeing herself from his grip and running outside. Jeff smiled to himself before he rushed to where his teammates were.

"You got a keeper, bro." Jeff heard Montgomery say which made him smile and reply with a "Yeah."

"Hot one, too. Did you get some?" Bryce smirked.

Jeff frowned, "Hey, don't speak about her like that, Walker." He approached him.

Bryce raised his hands in surrender, "Hey hey, no offense, bro."

"There better be none." Jeff said before walking to the front.

Josie sat beside Hannah and Clay on the other side. "Wooho!" They all cheered when their team ran out on the field, Josie's eyes fixed on Jeff who smiled at the crowd and looked like he was searching for someone.

"Go, 12!" Josie yelled out, catching Jeff's attention before blushing when he winked at her.

"You guys make me sick." Clay said.

"I sadly have to put up with you because you're tutoring Jeff and you're good at it." Josie joked, slapping Clay's chest and making Hannah laugh.

"Wow, thanks. I feel the love." Clay said sarcastically.

The game began. Liberty High students were cheering for their team, applause, chants and groans heard from the bleachers. Josie was biting her lip in worry whenever the other team got the ball.

Right now, it was a tie but it was also the match point (I know absolutely nothing about baseball) and Jeff was the batter. "You got this, Jeff!" Josie screamed to which all Liberty High students cheered to. The pitcher threw the ball and with every power in him, Jeff hit the ball, running before realizing that it was a home run making everyone erupt in cheers and stand on their feet. Josie cheered, hugging Hannah and Clay while jumping in her place.

Jeff laughed, smacked on the head in a supportive way by his teammates who dog piled on him before standing up, taking off his helmet and running towards the bleachers, towards his girlfriend. Josie noticed and leaned down, capturing his lips in a kiss, feeling his hands on her waist, carrying her from the bleachers and onto the field while still kissing her. They pulled away, grinning as everyone cheered. "You did it! You hit a home run!"

Jeff only laughed in response before kissing her again then holding her hand and taking her to where his teammates and coach were, intertwining their fingers. To say that Josie was proud of him was an understatement and to say that she was shy about how he was showing her off was also an understatement but nevertheless, she stayed beside him, holding his hand.

"Liberty High wins, ladies and gentleman!"

After this, everyone cheered more, confetti thrown. Jeff put his arm around Josie's shoulders, kissing her forehead.

To celebrate their win, Bryce held a party for the school at his house the same day. Everyone didn't drive back home but drove to Bryce's. Josie was with Jeff in the backyard, smiling proudly at him as he thanked everyone who came up to him to congratulate and praise him.

"Look at you. All Babe Ruth." Josie joked, wrapping her arm around his torso and putting a hand on his chest. He automatically wrapped one arm around her shoulders, the other rubbing her arm softly.

"It must be your good luck kiss and cheer." Jeff said, smiling down at her.

"Oh, that must be it." Josie grinned, "I'll go get beer, want some?"

"No, babe. I'm driving, remember?" He gave her a quick kiss before letting her go.

"My responsible boyfriend." Josie put a hand on her heart dramatically before walking inside. She reached the kitchen, seeing Alex standing by the fridge. She grabbed a beer can from the counter before approaching him. "Hi, guy-who-got-new-friends-and-ditched-us." She said as she popped open the can and took a sip.

Alex chuckled at her and shook his head, "I didn't ditch you guys."

"You did. And you have this I'm-trying-to-be-cool vibe going off, too." Josie said as she leaned on the counter.

"This isn't tr-"

"Hey, baby." Alex was interrupted by Jess putting her lips on his, Josie rolling her eyes.

"Uh, Jess," Alex pulled away, looking behind Jess at Josie, making Jess turn.

"Oh, hi, Josie. Didn't see you there. Congrats on Jeff's win." Jess smiled, balancing herself on Alex.

"Thanks. Good to see you guys but I gotta go." Josie said before walking back to the backyard.

"Josie! Congrats on Jeff! You're lucky, girl!" Sheri said as she passed by her.

Josie chuckled, "Thanks, Sheri and I know I am." Josie said before she stopped to chat with a friend from her English class for minutes.

"You, Jeff Atkins, are ahhh-mazing." Josie giggled in the passenger seat as Jeff drove.

"Oh yeah?" He chuckled at her drunken state.

"Hell yes! You're sober, aren't you?" Josie hiccuped.

"Yes, Jo, I am. You know I wouldn't drink if I'm driving." Jeff said.

"Good. Goodnight." Josie said before her soft snores were heard, making Jeff chuckle.

He parked his car outside his house, taking Josie's phone and texting her parents that she was safe and that she was staying at a friend's house to which her mother replied to with an "Okay, baby. Stay Safe x".

He carried her bridal style, unlocking the door with difficulty but he made it inside and closed the door with his foot. He walked through the dimmed light and walked upstairs to his room. He gently put Josie on his bed, tucking her in before he took off his clothes and changed into his PJs, washed his teeth and face and got an extra blanket and pillow from his closet and slept on the couch in the room.
