Josie stood in front of her mirror, staring blankly at her reflection. There she was, standing in a black dress and black flats, her eye bags red and purple, her lips as pale as her skin.

"Josie? Honey, are you ready?" Kelsey put her hand gently on her daughter's shoulder.

"Ready for what?" Josie whispered, still staring at her reflection.

Ever since the death, now 2 days ago, Josie was released from the hospital just this morning, at 7 am. She has been out of it. Telling everyone how she wanted to see Jeff, not seeming to accept reality.

"Mom?" Josie whispered.

"Yes, baby?"

"Is he okay? Jeff, I mean. I tried calling him the other day because he told me to call him before I went to bed but he didn't answer. He always answers." Josie turned, looking at her mom before her eyes widened, "Mom, is he okay?!"

"Come on, Josie. Come on, baby. It's time to go." Her mother, with a broken heart, held her hand, walking beside her out of her room and out of the house, towards the car where Stephan was already in, in his black suit.

They drove to the church to say their final goodbyes. And there they were. Inside the church, among the mourning and sobbing mob of people. Schoolmates, family and friends.

Josie's eyes were set on Jeff's photo on the closed casket as she entered, eyes on her. "Jeff," She whispered to herself, leaning on her mother for support.

"Josie!" Mary, Jeff's mother, cried out, rushing to the girl and engulfing her in a tight hug, crying on her shoulder.

Josie began taking deep breaths, clutching on Mary as her tears cascaded down her cheeks, "H-He wasn't drunk. I swear he wasn't." She cried.

Mary nodded, putting her hands on Josie's cheeks, "We're in this together, yeah? My son loved you till the very last day. We're-We're going to be fine, right?" It seemed like Mary wasn't comforting Josie, but herself.

Josie rapidly shook her head, "No! We won't be okay! I won't be okay! Someone killed my boyfriend! Someone killed the love of my life! I-I, I can't." Josie heaved, Stephan leading her to the bench, sitting her down.

Everyone watched, tears down their cheeks and their hearts broken for the young love that had to be torn apart so soon. So unfairly.
