SOPHIA

"Hey Garrett." I said into my phone a little while after Damon dropped me off.

"Hey Soph!" He replied in his usual upbeat tone.

"So I was wondering if you wanted to hang out with Alex, Damon and me?" I asked.

"Absolutely, that Alex guy is cute." He mused.

I repressed a laugh, "We don't know when we're hanging out yet but I'll text you when we do."

"Sounds good. I gotta go now, swim practice." He said as the faint sound of his swim bag's zipper came through the phone.

I rolled my eyes, when was that guy not in the water?

"I'll talk to you later, bye." I replied

"Bye." He finished off the call and then we both hung up.

Now I had to update Damon.

To: Badass Bunny

Garrett agreed to hang out.

Once the text message was sent I couldn't hold back a laugh. I forgot Damon's new name in my phone was Badass Bunny. Since he thinks he's so tough and badass I put the first part of the contact name as Badass, but he was really as badass as a pink fluffy bunny, so I put the second part as Bunny.

Soon after I sent the text my phone buzzed.

From: Badass Bunny

Cool, so what are the plans?

I giggled at his contact name and replied.

To: Badass Bunny

This weekend? Saturday, at noon?

Moments after the text was sent my phone buzzed with his reply.

From: Badass Bunny

Sounds good. Should we all meet at Tea Leaves Café?

I was surprised that he mentioned that specific café, most people our age preferred the more popular places like Starbucks.

To: Badass Bunny

Sounds good :)

I pressed send, flopped down onto my bed, and looked over at Antonio.

He hadn't grown at all since we got him, but he looked healthy so I must've been doing something right.

My phone buzzed and I opened the text from Damon.

From: Badass Bunny

So about that third date. Sunday good?

I smiled at the text but didn't get the chance to answer because my aunt barged into my room.

"You got mail." She said, tossed it to me, then exited my room.

I wonder what had her in a bad mood, she seemed irritated about something.

I looked at who sent it and my blood ran cold, how had my aunt not noticed who this was from? She would've never given it to me if she looked at the name.

To: Sophia Mackenzie

From: David Martin

It was from him.

My hands were shaking as I opened the letter.
