Warning: LANGUAGE!
With a heavy heart, you, Evan, and Jared had agreed to meet at Jared's house to continue writing the emails. Evan had made up with all of the Murphys, and now he, Alana, and Jared had started a new thing called The Connor Project. You had turned his offer of being secretary down, as you were over your head in extracurricular activities and school. You noticed that Evan seemed happier now, and even though you liked seeing him happy, it broke your heart. Jared had also hated this lack of attention, and it was going to his head, too.
"Hi guys!" Evan said brightly.
Jared muttered his greetings, and you gave a quiet hello.
Evan chuckled. "What's up with you guys today?"
Jared looked up and looked like he was going to shout, but you cut him off. "Let's just get to work, okay?"
Evan shrugged. "Fine by me."
Jared and you worked on the emails, while Evan worked on The Connor Project. Jared had typed another joke on one of the emails, which made you laugh your ass off. But when Evan found out, all hell broke loose.
"Okay, no Jared, obviously not." Evan had said. "You need to follow the plot line; you can't make stuff up."
"Right, right, what was I thinking?" Jared responded sarcastically. "Just making shit up in a completely fabricated email exchange."
Evan started to get mad, and you had to butt in. "C'mon Evan, it was just a joke! I would have made him delete it anyways." You told him.
"You know what? If you two can't take this seriously, I'll work on my own." He said.
You went over to him and sat down on the bed next to him. You weren't exactly trying to flirt; you cared too much about Evan to do that. "Okay, calm down Evan. It's just a joke. It won't happen again, right Jared?" You glared at Jared. He put his arms in the air, as if to surrender, then went back to work.
Evan sighed and rubbed his temples. "Thanks, Y/N."
You patted his back, then got up and went next to Jared. You sadly noticed how he flinched at your touch.
Around an hour later, you noticed that Evan had gotten strangely quiet and was no longer looking at is laptop, but instead, he was fixated on his phone. Jared noticed this too, and he nudged you. You coughed, hoping to get Evan's attention. He ignored you. Finally, you got up and excused yourself, pretending to go to the bathroom. When you got back, you glanced at Evan's phone and saw what he was doing.
"Why the hell are you texting Zoe Murphy?" You asked him.
He looked over at you. "Can't I text my girlfriend?" He asked you with a timid smile.
You had had enough. Before you knew it, you were shouting your head off. "NO, YOU CANNOT TEXT YOUR GIRLFRIEND FOR 45 FUCKING MINUTES WHILE ME AND JARED ARE OVER HERE WORKING OUR FUCKING ASSES OFF! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE, TELLING JARED AND I TO KEEP WORKING AND STOP JOKING WHILE YOU'RE OVER HERE TALKING ABOUT WHO--KNOWS-WHAT WITH ZOE?!"
Evan was shocked; he had never seen you this way. He opened his mouth as to say something, but you kept on going.
"YOU KNOW WHAT? I USED TO THINK YOU WERE A GOOD PERSON, EVAN HANSEN. BUT THIS HAS GOTTEN OUT OF CONTROL, AND I AM SICK OF IT. YOU KNOW, YOUR OH SO PERFECT GIRLFRIEND ISN'T THE ONLY PERSON IN YOUR LIFE! YOU HAVE FRIENDS, AND YOU HAVE A MOTHER WHO LOVES YOU AND TRIES SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND AND CONNECT WITH YOU, AND IF YOU WEREN'T SO FUCKING DISTRACTED, YOU WOULD HAVE NOTICED THAT WE STILL EXIST! FUCK YOU EVAN! ASSHOLE!"
At this time, Jared was up and holding you back from Evan, who was nearly in tears and in shock. Feeling fairly satisfied that you had done your part, you calmly and collectively gathered your things and left.
A/N: This sort of follows Sincerely Me Reprise, and it doesn't have the exact dialogue, so sorry if it isn't perfect.
Toodles!
