Chapter 20

Killian's POV

Emma took Maverick to the park and I had David over for some drinks. Its been a few days since I asked Emma to Marry Me and she said no.

"So you asked her to Marry you and she said no?" David questions while laughing.

"Its not funny mate. I dont know what to do know." I say.

"Your not gonna leave her are you? Because thats just messed up." He says.

"I love her and I know she loves me, but it has just gotten weird after I asked her to Marry me. I have to act like it doesnt bother me." I say.

"But it does bother you. Just tell her how you feel." He says.

"I cant I already freaked her out if I say anymore she'll get freaked even more." I say.

"Just give her sometime to think. After all if she isnt as freaked as you think." He says.

"How do you figure that?" I ask him.

"She is still with you. She has taken role as your son's mother. If she was really freaked out and believed there was no future with you she would have left you." He says.

"I guess your right. That makes sense." I say.

David was making sense Emma would have left. When Emma finally came home David left and Emma put Maverick down for a nap. Emma sat down on the chair and started reading a book. I had the TV on and all I was watching was her.

"Could you not stare at me when I look like this." She says.

"Emma you look beautiful." I say.

"I hate my study look and for some reason you like it.... Okay we really need to talk." She says.

"About what?" I asked because I knew what she wanted to talk about.

"I know your upset about me saying I wouldnt Marry you. Im sorry, but I dont think its the right time for that just yet. Just remember I love you alot just dont be mad at me." She says.

"Im not mad. I understand where your coming from. Maybe it is to soon for us to think about marriage. I love you Emma and Im sorry I have been acting weird." I say.

"Its okay. I just want you to know that a do see a future with you. I just want us to be together and take care of your son for now. Then maybe we can talk about marriage." She says.

"Yeah I'd like that." I say and kiss her head.

A few days later.

"KILLIAN! KILLIAN!" Emma runs in screaming.

She was all beat up, her hair was all over the place, and her clothes where all ripped up.

"Love what happened?" I ask.

"Graham... He tried to rape me." She says and falls on to my chest.

I held her close to me and she was shaking. I kissed her head and she began to cry. Im gonna kill Graham for hurting my Swan. He is gonna pay for what he has done to Emma.
