"Hey beautiful" Jordan said happily
"Hey yourself, I just got your message" Steph replied .She couldn't keep the smile playing on her lips from breaking through "and?" he pushed curiously
"Well, Connecticut is a long way for me but I have never been there so it should be fun" she said almost shaking with excitement.
"What about" Jordan asked sullenly
"Don't worry about that" she said interrupting him "I will take care of it" she added guiltily.
"Great, I will have a ticket for you at the airport and will get Chad's wife to send you the details tonight" Jordan told her excitedly
"Good, I am so looking forward to seeing a proper Jordan show this time" she said with a smile
"Well I hope I don't disappoint you then" he scoffed
"For some reason I am sure you won't" she said with a devilish grin on her face
"If I don't get a chance to talk to you before, I will see you on Saturday then" he murmured
"Great, I will call you if anything changes or if I have any problems" she said softly and really couldn't believe she was doing this, she must be out of her mind.
"Bye, until Saturday" he said quietly
"I can't wait" she said with a gasp and hung up the phone.
She sat for another minute in her car fighting the urge to run out into the parking lot and scream to anyone who would listen that she had just got off the phone with Jordan Knight. Her first instinct as always was to tell her girls every last detail but she knew that wasn't possible. The main thing was her fear that they wouldn't believe her and lurking behind that was the fact that she didn't know if this would go anywhere so she didn't want to look like a stupid groupie. She finally got the strength to actually start the car and headed home with a nervous stomach. She knew that she could cover the trip with an excuse of having to go somewhere on business which wouldn't be unreasonable but she feared that Brian would be able to register her excitement and question it. She pulled up in the yard and steadied herself before she got out. She had to do this right or he would suspect that something was going on. She grabbed up the groceries and made her way into the house.
"How was your day" he said as he took the bags from her.
"Just great" she huffed out sarcastically as she put the others down. She began putting things away telling him about her crappy work day as she moved around.
"And to top it all off Kelly can't go to the regional meeting in Connecticut because of her daughter so she is making me go on the last minute" she huffed out.
"Connecticut, really? Why do you have to go there?" he said stopping what he was doing.
"I told you it's the regional meeting and someone from our office has to be there" she said gesturing around absently "it's only for half a day on Saturday so it won't be too bad, but I hate the fact that I have to go up there just for that shit" she said as she closed the cabinet in feigning frustration.
"Yeah that does suck" Brian said and she read no suspicion his voice
"The home office is emailing me my electronic ticket tonight and I leave on Saturday morning" she said as she put away the bags from the groceries
"Well you will only really be gone one night so that's not too bad" he said pulling her into a hug
"Yep only one night" she said with almost regret as she laid her head on his chest.
She got the details of her flight in an email from Jenni that night. She printed out her ticket and stuck it in her purse for safe keeping and then deleted the email. She wasn't taking any chances. When Saturday arrived Brian insisted on taking her to the airport and she finally gave in. He kissed her by at the terminal and waited until she went inside. The guilt seemed to weigh her down as she approached the counter. She stopped and looked down at the ticket. What in the hell was she doing? She thought angrily. She can't do this. She really should not have even considered it. Why was she rushing off to see someone that wasn't even her husband and worse was married himself? This was crazy. She was married, she had made her choice as to who she wanted to live with for the rest of her life and she should stay with that. This wasn't fair to Brian or really anyone. But, she thought in the back of her mind, if she would have known that Jordan would be interested in her would she have chosen Brian? The thought made her almost sick. How could she be this way? She was so lost in the battle for her mind that she didn't notice the ticket agent walk up beside her.
"Oh ma'am you check your bag right here" she said pulling her ticket out of her hand and taking her bag.
Stephi allowed herself to be guided to check in without resistance and once it was done she resigned herself to the fact that she was committed now and she just should see what happened this weekend if anything.
The plane ride was short and when she got to the airport she collected her bag and made her way out to the street. She knew that Jordan wouldn't be waiting on her so she pulled out the address to the club and gave it to the nearest taxi driver she could find. She was so nervous over there she completely forgot about doing any site seeing even out of the window right next to her. She knew she was way too early for the show but hopefully the club would be open and someone there would be able to tell her where the nearest and safest hotel was. When the cab pulled up she leaned in and payed him. He drove off and left her standing in the parking lot almost shaking with anticipation.
