"Sorry, I had to mark my territory" Jordan murmured   grinning  as he attempted to catch his breath

"It was purely selfish"

"I will consider myself marked then" Steph replied softly as she  pressed  a  soft kiss on his sweaty lips

Outside in the parking lot Bubba walked guardedly  up to Brian  motioning for  him to take a walk.

Brian followed reluctantly.

"Listen, I can feel your pain because I have been there" Bubba began

"But this is not the way. We think that women like this fight stuff but it's not true, she has to follow her heart and you have to respect that" he finished stopping to face him

"She won't even talk to me" Brian said rubbing the now dripping sweat out of his face "I just want to talk to her"
"I will see if I can get her to do that, because it's only fair, but I am not making any promises" he said with a gesture
"Thanks" Brian said absently
"But let's get one thing straight" Bubba said coolly as he stepped into him "If I ever see you lay a hand on her again, I will personally pound your ass into oblivion" he finished and just walked away.
Brian stood for a moment longer and watched him go back into the club.

A few days later

Steph pushed her way through the packed crowd.

She couldn't believe they were back in Boston, and worse Jordan's wife was here. She could be civilized she told herself as she cleared past the bouncers.

Well she wouldn't start a fight in the parking lot, Steph thought as she smiled to herself. She still couldn't believe that he hadn't left his wife. She blew out a breath. Steph knew she couldn't go through that again. She turned the corner and saw him standing there. He was fidgeting with his shirt. She walked up to him smiling.

"Hey you" Jordan  murmured  grinning back at her.
"Hey yourself, are you nervous?" Steph  asked taking Jordan's hand in hers.

"Hell yeah I am" Jordan  assured her  with a chuckle "and I don't really want to be here" he added as his face dropped. He reached up and brushed her face gently as she closed her eyes at his touch
She knew exactly what Jordan  was feeling because she felt it too.
"Good luck tonight"  she murmured  with a flirty tilt to her lips  as she fought back the urge to kiss his full mouth
"Thanks" Jordan  replied with a grin to match his shrug

"I will probably need all I can get"

"Don't be silly" Steph teased  grabbing his arm

"You could go up there , just take your clothes off and people will lose their minds" she chuckled

"Well...I am willing to bet that some people who are around tonight will not agree with that" he muttered covering her hand.
The electricity they still had together amazed her. After everything they had been through in the past few weeks Steph   was amazed that their bond  had  grown stronger.

She was still worried along the edges though. Brian still wasn't taking the thought of divorce well, he hadn't even signed the papers , as for   Jordan well he showed no signs of severing his relationship with Evelyn

Standing there looking at her, her smile, the way she shifted to fidget with her hair simply mesmerized him. Her shiny brown hair caught the light and it shimmered. He smiled. Man did he have it bad. It was taking every ounce of his strength not to just sweep her up into his arms and carry her off and never return.
He was glad that his conviction had held up as Evelyn walked up behind her.
Stephi noticed the change in his face immediately as she registered the clicking of heels on the hard concrete. She felt it was time she got out of there.
"Well good luck with the show" she said with a smile as she turned to walk off. She eyed Evelyn coolly and didn't even warrant a return glance.
"Who the hell was that?" Steph heard Evelyn rage at him the minute she had turned around the corner in exit. She paused to listen  to  Jordan's response.
"No one" Jordan  hissed  defensively "it was just a random fan, you know how they are" he finished absently and Steph fumed as she  heard them walk off.
Just a random fan? The thought sent waves of ice through her. Was that all she really was to him just a random fan. The sensible side of her tried to rationalize her stupid thoughts but she shut it up immediately. She pressed her back against the wall. What in the hell was she doing? She had put her life aside, no, no made her life hell for him to just call her a random fan. Who in the hell did he think he was. It was the last straw for her and she felt it break into a million pieces. The tears welled up in her eyes as  Steph angrily fought them back she was not going to cry, not over Jordan Knight .

He had denied that she had even existed last week too. When all the rumors started flying about them he had denied it and then gave her a load of bull shit about his marriage and image to cover it up and she, like the naive woman she was, had fucking believed him. Jordan had been playing her  all along and she let him!

Steph began to shake emotionally so violently  she couldn't control it.

What the hell was she going to do? Her marriage was practically in shambles and she thought that Jordan was the one true person in her life, man she was a complete idiot.
