Jordan helped Steph into the suv after ensuring all medical bills were sent to him directly.
"I don't need a babysitter " Steph grumbled as he zipped through the city streets.
"I heard the doctor.You're not being left alone " he replied evenly never taking his eyes off the road.
"Jordan look " Steph began. Interrupting her Jordan quietly informed her
"No one is keeping you away from me tonight"
"I don't care if I have to bunk on the sofa , the floor I am not leaving your side tonight."
Steph opened her mouth to protest as Jordan shot her a look full of pain.
"Don't "he whispered.
She turned her head to look out the window watching as the city lights zipped by.
"This isn't the way to my house " Steph observed curiously.
"I know I figured you'd be more comfortable at mine where there's no blood all over the grass ' Jordan shrugged.
"I'd rather go home " she admitted softly.
Without saying another word Jordan took the next left and made a u turn .
"Thank you " Steph whispered .
Jordan reached over , taking her hand in his squeezing gently.
"For you anything baby' he said softly.
Steph didn't respond.
At the same time she didn't move her hand from his either .
He smiled to himself feeling hopeful
.Jordan pulled into the spot behind her car.Cutting off the ignition he opened the door and went around to the passenger side.Helping Steph out of the passenger side Jordan held his hand out.
She looked at him questioningly
"Keys " he demanded softly.
Steph was ready to argue but knew he'd fight her.Slapping them in his hand she started walking toward her porch.
Before she could say another word Jordan scooped her up in his arms ,carrying her up the steps "I can walk you know "
"Humor me it's been too long since I could hold you this close" he whispered close to her ear."I've missed it."
After unlocking the door and carrying her inside Jordan laid her on the couch until he could lock up.
Scooping Steph up in his arms again Jordan whispered
"Which way to your room?"
She narrowed her eyes
"Not for that woman " he chuckled softly as he found his own way to her bedroom and set her gently on the bed.
Knowing she probably felt filthy Jordan walked into the bathroom and began running her a bath,
"What are you doing ?"
"Running you a bath " Jordan explained as he walked back into the bedroom to help her undress.Once she stopped protesting he led her into the vanilla scented room. He scooped her up and placed her in the tub.Dropping a kiss on her lips he murmured "I'll be right outside the door baby " The warm water had already begun taking over and she could feel the tension leaving her body so she simply nodded.
A little while later he appeared in the doorway "C'mon princess lets get you outta there and in bed " Jordan whispered pulling the plug from the tub.He gently dried Steph off and helped her put on her pug nightgown before scooping her up in his arms and carrying her to her bed.
