Fifty Two

Jon dropped the boys off about an hour later. Both Jordan and Steph  thanked him for giving them some time to themselves with the entire mess.Jordan hadn't told the boys they were going to be big brothers yet so they figured a nice quiet family night was in order.

DJ barreled into the living room straight to Jordan bumping into Steph roughly.

"Dante!"Jordan raised his voice enough so that his eldest son knew he meant business.

"Sorry Dad "Dante mumbled eyeing the woman standing next to his father.

Eric ,who was sitting on the sofa with his uncle ,hopped out of his seat and walked quietly over to Steph

"Hello " he whispered looking cautiously at her with wide eyes identical to his father's.

"Hiya Eric "Steph greeted him cheerfully.

Jordan directed both boys to sit on the sofa next to his brother.

This was the first time Steph formally met the boys but she was optimistic that they would like her or at the very least be somewhat welcoming to her.

While they were apart during the divorce battles Jordan already sat the boys down to explain the situation and outcome to them.The only thing that had not been revealed to them was the fact that they would have a new sibling. This particular part was new to all of them.

Jon shifted uncomfortably ,getting ready to leave thinking this was a private moment that should be shared by the four of them when Jordan shook his head no as he realized what his brother's intentions were.

Steph found four sets of Knight eyes watching her as she smiled and shook her head indicting that Jon should not leave.

Jordan cleared his throat as he began to explain to his sons that Steph and he were marrying and that they would be big brother's in the near future.He went on to explain that Steph would be moving in with them within the next several days as he watched all of them for a reaction. This was something he had yet to bring up to her and was unsure of her reaction.

Steph registered shock on her face but recovered quickly when the boys smiled at her. Their smiles much like their father's comforted her .

"Is it a boy ? "Dante asked

"Is it a girl ? Eric piped up

"Do we have to share a room with the baby ?" Dante pushed on

"Do I have to share my toys with the baby ?" Eric demanded

Sensing Steph's hesitation to answer Jordan interjected cutting them off quickly

" We don't know what the baby is yet it's too soon. No you do not have to share a room .And Eric the baby will be too small for your toys for awhile."

Both boys seemed to let out a sigh as if they were relieved.

"Dad If it's a girl do we have to be nice to it ?"Eric asked innocently

That seemed to break the tension in the room as all the adults started laughing .

Eric looked from one face to the other confusion on his face as he wondered why they were all laughing
