Chapter seven
————————
||•Samantha Washington•||He should know that I was working later. I texted him back, "visit me at work?" And he responded with, "Bruh forgot you got work and yeah sure." The class started and we just took notes. After class I went to the library with my friends because I had an hour till my next class begun.
We worked on our essays and checked each other's works. It was a lot of fun, since it was a group afford. The best thing about my friends was, we focus on our works one hundred and ten percent. After the study session, I had my class, then I went home to get changed.
Nobody was home. Everyone was probably doing their own thing. I stopped by the Browns to greet them. Tee wasn't home. He might be still with Tadiwa or studying. "Where's Tee? Here's some samosas."
"Still at Uni. I got work. See you later. Love you." I made my way to work. As I arrived at work, it was crowded. "Look who's late," said Nick sneaking behind me.
"Ah nice try, I'm never late for work but I'm not sure about you," I smirked. We work together too and we're not the type to set the restaurant on fire, thank God. I went to the locker room and put my things away.
"Nick, wanna grab dinner later since we're finishing late." I did not have his attention at all but a beautiful girl sitting in the corner did. "If you get that girl to be my dinner tonight, all the late night dinners will be on me." Who am I to refuse free food. "Bet fam," I agreed walking towards the girl to get her order.
"Hello, what can I get yo....Sam?" I barely finished what I was going to say. Samantha was my old school mate, who moved states during high school. She moved somewhere in Australia with her family and from there, she was traveling around the world.
She was also the girl who left Tee heart broken for months. It wasn't my business to be involved in. I stayed out of their relationship mostly but sometimes they asked for advice and I gave them some. The thing with Tee and I is that we don't hate together, we're too mature for that. He didn't hate her but he didn't like what she did either .
"Wow Fenty, how long has it been," she hugged me. "Four years and a half," I said, without hesitation. "look at Miss Washington slaying these b-tches," I complimented her while giving her more hugs.
"Girl staph, I actually miss you so much." We took a seat, there was so much to be discussed which required seats. "Don't worry I won't get fired, my boss is cool," I assured her because she was looking around worried. We talked for about five minutes.
All the memories came rushing back. "How long are you staying in New York for?" I asked, hopping it was going to be long. "Actually we're staying here for good. My family and I moved here yesterday."
"OMG that's the best news I've heard all day," I said excitedly. I saw Nick eyeing me from the corner of my eye.
"look girl as much I would love to continue our chat, I have to get back to work. Drop by mine when you settled down. I live in the same place." I said getting up. "Of course girl," she replied.
Crap, I forgot Nick's request. " Oh girl, I almost forgot, my mate wants your number, his name's Nick, he promised me free food if I get your number for him." She looked over at him who was still standing in the same spot waiting for me.
"Bish ain't that the nerd dude from high school? Wow what a glow up." She wrote her number down on my note book. "He did, didn't he? Catch up soon babygirl." I made my way to Nick, who was excited to have her number. He doesn't know I know her. They never really hanged in high school. They probably met once or twice during high school.
I couldn't wait to tell my best friend about his ex return.
She left him with no explanation.
She left me with no explanation.
