Chapter nineteen
———————————
||•Shocking will reading•||"Uncle I don't understand why you have to rush the will reading. I mean can't we do it in a few months. Our parents just passed away three month ago. We can't handle all this pressure."
As much as I wanted to know about what our parents had left us, I agreed with Ferry. Will reading is never easy. It's like a bushfire that can't be put out. I crossed my arms in an agreement.
"Ferry my child, it's not me. That's why I can't tell you why everything is in a rush. We just have to find out."
I opened the door to a middle aged man who was wearing a suit with them cool black business bags. I'm guessing he must be the will man. I walked to the living room with him.
"The executor is here," I announced. Most of the family members were here including Pops' sister. Aunty Gladys. We don't like her because she always make herself the centre of everything. She doesn't give but expect to receive. We as her nieces never got birthday gifts from her. She's so greedy.
I didn't know reading wills was this boring. Some of the points I didn't even understand.
Until
"My dear wife, I leave my estates and businesses with you. If you don't survive me, I leave them under my brother Thomas Magoro until my children are in their twenties."
"I leave my current home and a second house to my precious older daughter Ferry." Way to go Pops. I was happy for my sister. The will man continued.
"To my brother Thomas Susan Magoro. I leave you a house and my first shop. I also leave my second shop to your loving wife Mary."- Before the executor—William could carry on, I busted out laughing with Ferry.
"Wait, wait, wait, lemme get this straight. Uncle T your middle name is Susan?" I slightly punched Ferry on her shoulder and we laughed together.
"That's the nick name your father gave me. And your grandmother added it to my birth certificate. Now laugh some more and you'll see the ass whoopin' you're about to receive young ladies." He ain't playing.
"Okay okay, I'm done. Sorry." I said chuckling.
"I give my beautiful Moochi one million dollars . This is a present for when she finishes University." That was fair. The money will remained in the family account which was managed by the bank.
"I give thirty percent of my company to the boy who has been more than a son to me. Tyrone Willie Brown." My Pops was actually a bully with these nick names. I couldn't help but chuckled and Tee gave me a look. Wow everyone was tight as hell.
"Twenty percent to my wise daughter Ferry." Man this sh*t was tiring. When do we take a break, all I wanted was to eat. I got up to get myself something to eat. I was starving.
"I haven't forgot my sister Gladys. I give you ten thousand dollars." She was about to say something but William carried on.
"Knowing you, you will try to argue but don't waste your breath because that's that for you until you learn to be grateful."
"Pops still roasting people even in the grave I can't deal." I laughed. I suddenly stopped when I almost cried. Uncle T was taking care of most of the things till we grown I guess. Well we're grown but we're not in the right stage of mind to take care of anything at the moment.
"So is the other fifty percent for me?" I asked William. Ferry was smiling in wonder and so was everyone else.
"No, it's for your brother."
"He's not my brother and he already has the thirty percent."
"No your actual brother."
Everyone looked at him like he was crazy. My uncle said there must be a mistake somewhere. And we all agreed with him.
"Your father wrote a letter."
I know this may come as a shock to you family and family friends. Twenty years ago, I had an unaware affair with my personal assistance. She got pregnant and didn't tell me. She gave birth a few months later. She had told me the baby was mine and my wife was also pregnant with Moochi around that time. Tests were done and proven the baby was mine. I decided to keep it a secret. I didn't want to complicate things with my family. The mother of the child also agreed as long as I paid her, it was acceptable until the baby is mature enough to make his own decisions. With that being said, I had to double the child support. You may wonder who the other percent of the company will go to. The fifty percent of the Magoro Kontrol goes to him. I would like to apologise for the hurt I'm causing you, especially finding it out like this. May you find it in you hearts to forgive me.
-Terry Magoro
Men are trash. Don't generalise Fenty, it's not every men. Why would you put such a thing in a letter. That's a face to face thing. Handle it with your family and sitting around the table or something. Also as a man who was a businessman and a lawyer, how did he ended up in a situation like that? I was all type of confused.
"Mr Magoro has another letter. But he wanted it read when you meet his biological son."
Everyone were shocked to even say anything. My uncle that I expected to know about the situation was lost for words ass well. My Pops was a liar and didn't even tell his own wife let alone his brother about the affair.
"Pops was not who we thought he was. I can't believe what I'm hearing. Pops was a liar?"
"Respect your father." Aunty Mary said.
Everyone were going off. I couldn't bear. I couldn't think. My head was all over the place. Aunty Gladys was going off about the secret child inheriting everything.
"Everyone just calm down. Please go home and sleep on it. I can't take all of the yelling and arguing." I said almost leaving myself with no breath.
Come to think of it thought, why did my Pops only left me one million dollars? Not that I'm not grateful or anything.
