Chapter nine

"What do you wanna do?" Tee asked a soon as we got home. My parents are staying the night at uncle's and dearest sister was staying at a friend's after clubbing. "Let's cook then watch a whole ton of movies."

"Perfect plan."

We cooked more dishes than we were planning on cooking. I just knew Mama was going to whoop our *sses for playing with food. "What movies do you wanna watch?" I was never a fan of horror movies. "I'm gonna go with"-

-Before I could finish my sentence, he said "Love don't Cost a Thing.The Perfect Match. Think Like a Man and then Addicted. I'll make snacks you put the first movie on." He knows me too well.

We situated ourselves on the couch with the lights off but the light on the hall way. We started watching Love Don't Cost A Thing first—in the range he listed them.

I haven't seen Love don't Cost a Thing in ages. Watching it now made me realise how cringe it is. Especially when Alvin reads the poem song Paris wrote. "I riseee..." I wanted to punch myself for obsessing over that movie as a teen.

I woke up to an empty house. I guess everyone enjoys other companies rather than their own precious daughter's. I don't know what I was thinking but I went for a jog. These past few days, I just wanted to be lazy after classes and work.

I ran into Tee like always. "Hey what's up." He raced after me. I tried getting away from him but I got little legs.

Awkward.

"Nothing much just the usual," I continued running. He caught up after me again. "If I didn't know any better, I'd say, you're avoiding me." Pssss what? He damn be silly. "N-a-h you good, why would I avoid you?" I stuttered.

Pathetic.

I cannot even have a proper conversation with my best friend without sounding like a high school girl crushing. Whatever this is. It better escalate real quick. I cannot loose my best friend over confusion. "When do you want me to come." The way he said it made it sound like he whispered. And you know the drill after that.

I panicked and reacted rather loud, "what?!" He looked at me confused as f-ck. "To study at your place, you know like per usual," he elaborated. I was embarrassed I cannot look at him straight.

"Oh I knew that but I'm afraid I will be studying by myself today," I passed him. He would caught up to me and stared with an expression of "are you serious."

"Since when do you study by yourself? We always study together." Since I feel funny around you.

"Princess you're being so weird. Is it because of last night. I'm sorry."

I simply just wanted to run in peace, burn some fat before I eat some more fat. Is that too much to ask for?

"Bye," I sprinted.

"You're being childish," he yelled after he stopped running.

I yelled back, "you're so irritating." I turned around to see him smiling to himself.

The next chapter is what happened last night. I didn't want to put them together because it would be too long.
