Chapter thirty-three
——————————
||•Meeting Trevor Dinner•||

"Is everything ready? He'll be here any minute now. Please be on your best behaviour!"

My sister was freaking out, she was extremely anxious and nervous to finally let us meet Trevor. It was different when we were planning his visit yesterday. My sister wasn't having nervous breakdowns then.

"Fur, calm the f*ck down mate. It's not that deep at all. Trust us, we won't mess this up for you." I said while making her finally sit down.

Ferry had only brought two guys over to meet her family in the past. Trevor was the third one. The first one was from high school and the second one was after high school. My mother did not like the second one. He was a bit controlling and my mother exact words were "This one is not for you."

There was a knock on the door and Ferry told us to behave. What she didn't know was, we had a plan to intimidate her boyfriend.

"Guys, this is Trevor." She smiled but we kept a straight face and not say anything.

"That's it? This is him?" Nick said.

"Should I like go outside and see if he left the rest of him behind or something?" Followed by Tee.

"Well this is very disappointing," I added.

Poor Trevor, he was staring at the floor not knowing what to do or say in this situation. Ferry on the other hand looked very sympathetic toward Trevor. I couldn't take it anymore as much as it was funny to us. I busted out laughing and so did the boys.

"We're playing with you. So sorry, welcome to our home." I gave him a hug and the boys shook his hand welcoming him also. Ferry's face changed from "I will kill you all" to "I love you guys."

Trevor had a charming smile to go with his beautiful face. He was well mannered and could dress well. He was an outgoing person, getting along with him wasn't a problem. I saw Ferry smiling from the corner of my eye and I knew she was happy to see us get along.

There was another knock on the door and I was pretty sure it was Jared. I opened the door and she greeted me.

"Hi Jared, we were expecting you, please come in." I announce that Jared was here and Nick came rushing to us.

"Calm down brother, she's not going anywhere."

"Moochi, shut up. Hi Jared, welcome to our home." Nick's tone changed from fake to real in seconds.

"So Trevor, what do you do?" I shamelessly asked.

He wiped his mouth with a napkin before answering. "Giving this lawyer thing a go."

"How long you got?"

"Practicing law right now, first year associate. I guess a while."

Yes I was impressed. We learned that Trevor was the only child who left home to get a better education. He also left his family there and now doing everything he can to make a better living for himself and his family.

Trevor's story was very inspiring which made me realised you could achieve anything you put your heart and soul into. Anything standing in the way was an excuse.

"Can we keep him?" I begged

The all four of us looked at Ferry for a confirmation but she wanted to be a judge and take her time as if she was to announce who had won.

"I mean he can cook."

We moved on to question Jared. At first she was nervous but warmed up to us after a few jokes.

It turned out Jared was attending MLK's University, studying to become a surgeon.

"That's really cool, a surgeon and a criminologist." They both looked at each other and smiled.

I couldn't be more happier for my sister. They're both good for each other—well all four of them. Things were falling into places. My sister was the happiest woman on earth right now.

Tee and I were doing great but still tease each other of course. Nicklaus was probably going to give Jared a go. And Charlie, my brother of course, he was still messing around and having fun.

"So Trevor, when can we see you again? By the way, it was awesome having you over. And sorry for the first impressions."

He chuckled for a moment which I was sure he was reminiscing on the first impressions. Then he had the biggest smile on his face, before answering.

"Very soon. I will definitely get all of you back, except for my baby of course. Thank you so much for your hospitality."

I kissed him three times on the cheeks to say bye. He waved back at us, once he got on his beautiful red car. Don't ask me what type of a car it was, I don't know anything about cars. As soon as the door closed, it got loud. The boys were giving Ferry accolades.

"Mum would've said 'now this one is for you,' they're both smiling at the woman you've become, wherever they are. I may not say this a lot but you're my role model Fur and I'm proud of you."

"Aw this is so beautiful, but I'll have to head off now."

"Thank you so much for coming. You're welcome here anytime." I hugged her.

"I'll walk you." Nick offered.

"It's okay, I'll walk myself out, be with your family." She kissed him on the cheek and he was geeked.

We all found ourselves in a group hug, until my brother from another mother walked in, taking his key out, from the lock. Mama gave the three of us keys to the house, since we were high schoolers.

"So you don't invite me to family stuff anymore, I see, I see how it is. Some family you are." He dramatically threw himself on the couch.

"Shut up stupid, check your phone." I said.

"It's not like I had my phone on me..."

"Boy, you always have your phone on you. You wouldn't want to miss, texts and calls from Selena, Rebecca, Alicia...."

I continued with the names as I made my way upstairs.

"...always chasing h*es." I said it louder which made everyone laughed.
