Chapter twenty-five
———————————
||Drinking our sorrows away||It seemed to me the way this family operated was by lying. At this point anyone could tell me they're a vampire and I wouldn't be surprised.
Everything was unexpectedly expected. When Ferry asked that question, all you could hear was cricket sounds.
"Yes it was an accident. I would never harm my child." Uncle T answer.
"But you would abandon one." Tee commented.
The man went to tell all of us how he came about making me with my mother. It started when my Pops was first admitted in hospital for six months. I didn't know Pops sickness started when I wasn't born.
"My brother was admitted in hospital for an entire six months. I spend most of the time home. Tulisa was lonely. We already had feelings for each other and it was hard to stop at that moment."
Even if this man was the only man that had a manhood in the neighbourhood, that didn't give him the right. It was wrong on so many levels.
"Dad, that's messed up. She was your brother's wife. Where was the respect. Y'all too grown for that sh*t."
Charlie was right. They were to grown to be acting like teenagers. Why be sneaky?
"Two weeks later before your father came home, Tulisa told me she was pregnant with my kid. I told her to keep this a secret because she wanted to tell my brother."
My mother was going to tell Pops about the pregnancy because she didn't want to lie to him. Thomas didn't want to ruin his relationship with his brother.
"This whole situation would've ruined everything between the family. As you were growing up, Mr Brown he wanted me to tell you and bring out the truth."
The truth could not be brought to my attention because Thomas saw the bond I had with his children and my own sister.
"You're a horrible person. Get out of our house." Ferry went to open the door. She was always good at that—directing people to the door like they didn't know where it was.
I felt like we were born in the wrong families. These family of ours were creatures. They're not human at all. I mentioned before, one of the family members can pop up with a tale and I would've be surprised.

"It's free to say, we got the most f*cked up family in the universe. I don't know about y'all but I feel like going to the clubs."
"We shouldn't be miserable, we're the strongest squad. And we gotta pick each other up no matter what life throws at us." Charlie said.
"How about we go shopping with Charlie's car and we get ready at his appartments, then catch a cab to the club."
"Yes Ferry great idea. Let's go." I got off of the couch.
"Umm Princess maybe you should get shoes?"
"Right, right on it."
Ferry locked up and joined us in the car. I texted Nick if he wanted to come but there was no answer. He was probably still processing things. We're tired of lies after lies.
"We should go to Deluxe," I suggested. They all agreed. What can I say, I was the best when it comes to picking the lit clubs and Deluxe plays Afrobeats.
As we got to the shops, the boys wanted their stores to be visited first. I was glad we were doing this because we needed it.
"How y'all feel about denim vibe for the night?"
"That's dope Mooching." Charlie said and the rest nodded.
My best friend and I decided to go with the denim blue while Ferry and Charlie went with the denim black. I wanted to try a new look for the first time.
A denim short skirt and a crop denim jacket with a white top and white Air Force one caught my eyes. My best friend did the same to match my outfit.
My sister looked incredible with an overall denim dress and on the other hand was my cousin—brother was matching her. It was weird that he was now my brother. I was not going to think of that right now. We were all rocking the same shoes.
Hopefully we don't run into any trouble at the club because b*tches always be trying me and my sister. We don't just throw hands, somebody has to start for us to throw hands.
"You do your make up quickly sister and we can bounce on time. Quickly."
She did my make up soon as we reached Charlie's apartment. The boys got ready first and now it was a long wait for the Queen of Africa to finish her majesty look.
"I'm ready, let's bounce."
Finally the Lord was working in our favour. The cab came and we went straight for our location. We arrived and Tee went to get the drinks. As I was talking to the siblings, I see a redheaded shawty flirting with my man of the hour.
I had to get up because redheaded was preventing our drinks from coming. On the other hand, I just wanted to be petty.
Tell me why this girl was leaning in to kiss the man who isn't really my man? I suddenly realised it was mean girl Tadiwa. I haven't seen that girl in a minute.
Her eyes were closed as she came in with the kiss but smoothly pull Tee to the side and put my whole hand on her face. So now she was kissing my hand.
"Redhead, you lost? Coz I can give you directions."
She didn't take it well especially knowing I knew her name but decided to call her by her hair. Up she raised her hand to slap me but I got quick hands.
"Try me, I'll have your ashy dusty ass thrown out of here." I let go of her hand.
After she left, Tee turn to me and said "you jealous or something?"
"Nah I just don't like my alcohol being held captive." And walked off.
"That ass though." I pretended I didn't hear as I continued walking and smiling.
Apparently we had new friends sitting with us. I handed Ferry and Charlie their drinks. A fine dark skin from our new group of friends was hitting on me.
He changed positions to sit next to me, so close to the point our shoulders were rubbing against each other. I unintentionally touched his abs as he was leaning back. In that moment, I wanted to take him home with me.
There was only one problem, I was already thinking of someone in particular. I had to find a way to turn him down. I put my diamond ring to my left hand ring finger.
"Sorry, I'm engaged."
