I was stunned for a moment after I put down the phone.

Damn, what am I doing?

The door suddenly opened and Heather emerged on it. She was smiling and she directly went on me to claim my lips.

"Baby, are you free tomorrow? I was invited by Jonah on her baby's baptismal. I want you to come with me."

Para naman akong natauhan sa sinabi niya. Damn, I already made a compromise with Lerise tomorrow.

Alanganin ang ngiting binigay ko sa kanya.

"I'm sorry hon, but I don't think I can make it since I have an appointment tomorrow."

Nakita kong napasimangot si Heather sa narinig. Kahit ako din naman, I wasn't expecting that I'll give Lerise conditions like that.

"I'm sorry, hon. I'll make it up to you next time."

I gave her a smile showing an assurance that I'll be true to my words. I saw how she heaved out a sigh.

"As if I can insists. Well, what's your appointment tomorrow?"

I suddenly had this hesitation to tell her about my interview with Lerise. Well, it's not like there's something wrong with doing the interview.

Well, nothing's wrong with the interview. It's just that, there's something not normal on how you're going to conduct the said 'interview'.

I sighed at the thought. It seemed like I lost control of my sanity since I saw her again. I've been having this control for years, and I always lost it if it concerns her.

Fuck.

"Baby?"

Para naman akong natauhan sa sinabi ni Heather. Damn, what was she saying again?

"I said, what's your appointment tomorrow? Is it really whole day?"

Pag-ulit pa ni Heather sa tanong nito. Huminga muna ako ng malalim bago sumagot.

"It's an interview for a magazine."

I answered her shortly.

"So interview lang naman pala e. I think half day's okay with that. Then you can join me afterwards."

"I'm sorry Hon. We'll be doing the pictorial as well so I think it will take the whole day."

Nakita ko namang mukhang nagtatampo na siya. Pero agad din niya iyong binalewala at pinalitan ng ngiti ang nagtatampong mukha.

"Well, okay. Hmm, what made you change your mind? I thought you won't be doing any interview."

Mabilis kong hinagilap ang isang papeles na nasa aking table para kunwa'y nandoon ang aking atensyon.

"Well, I think it's time for me to expose my restaurants in print."

"Hm, I think it's a good idea though. Are you going to have the pictorial and interview at any of your restaurant branch?"

At first, I thought of lying to her but I know that I can't lie to Heather. Kahit na alam kong wala naman akong masamang intensyon sa ginawa ko, pakiramdam ko ay nakagawa ako ng kasalanan kay Heather.

"No. It will be held at my place in Tagaytay."

She looked surprised as she heard that I have a place at Tagaytay.

"You have a place there? Why I wasn't informed? Really, Ash? It looks like you still don't want to share some parts of your life with me. Nagtatampo na ako."
