We're still on Maxine's camp site. Ash has already called the school camp site to inform Prof. Veracruz that I'm safe. We've decided to spent time with Maxine before going back to our camp site.
We're sitting near the bonfire. Walang damo halos dun sa may bonfire kaya okay lang kahit may apoy doon.
Ash has been keeping me in her arms since she arrived. Parang ayaw niyang bumitaw kaya hinayaan ko nalang siya. Maxine has been smiling as she keeps on looking at us.
"So finally Ash, a reality eh?" Maxine teased. It seemed like they understand each other without saying much.
Ash looked at me and kissed me. Syempre ako naman, namula na parang hinog na kamatis. Tinampal ko nga ito sa pisngi pagkatapos ng halik.
I understand the kiss earlier kasi masaya lang kami na nagkita kami, I thought hindi ko na siya makikita pa ulit. Pero ang paulit-ulit na kiss ay sobra na.
"Ash! Mahiya ka naman kay Max!" I glared at her. They both laughed at what I've said. Damn, pinagkakaisahan ako ng dalawa!
"Naku, kelan pa nagkaroon ng hiya itong si Ash? Sheiia, mag-ingat ka dyan. May pagka-palikero yan!" Maxine looked as if she's really trying to warn me. Ashley just scowled at her.
"That was before, Max. I've changed. Alam mo naman, I already have the person I've been waiting for."
Gusto kong kiligin sa mga sinasabi ni Ash pero nahihiya pa rin ako kay Maxine. Kaninang tumatakbo ako, para akong baliw na takbo ng takbo kahit walang direksyon. Mas lalo akong pumalahaw ng iyak nang may sumunggab sa akin, only to find out that it was Maxine. Right after I recognized her, agad ko siyang niyakap without any inhibitions.
Si Ash agad ang una kong naisip nang makita ko si Maxine kaya walang alinlangan ko siyang niyakap. It felt like I'm safe because I'm with Maxine. It felt like Ash is just around me because I'm with Max. She makes me remember Ash.
Akala ko kanina katapusan ko na, tulad ng mga napapanood ko sa mga drama. I thought I won't be able to see my girlfriend. The thought of me leaving her is tearing me into pieces. Hindi ko kayang isipin na balang-araw iiwan ko siya.
"Oh well, I'd leave that with no comment." Sabi ni Maxine sabay tapon ng sigarilyo na hawak. Inalok nito kanina si Ash pero tinanggihan ng huli. Sabi nga niya, she has changed daw. Tinawanan lang ito ni Max.
"How about you, Max? How's your life going?"
Tahimik lang ako at hindi nakisali sa kanila. Since yakap ako ni Ash, nasa dibdib niya ang aking ulo. I decided to close my eyes and take a break from exhaustion. Ash kissed me on the forehead when he saw my eyes clossed.
"You may sleep, babe." I heard her whisper. I heard Maxine let out a deep breath as well.
"Still the same, nothing has changed." Maxine answered. My eyes were already closed but my mind's still awake.
"Is this still about Elise?"
Ilang sandaling naging tahimik si Maxine bago nakasagot.
"I don't know. I still love her, but not as much as before. I'm sorry, Ash. For what I did."
Regret is very evident on Maxine's voice. Hindi ko alam kung anong mararamdaman ko. They're talking about Ashley's ex, for Pete's sake!
"It's okay, Max. It's my fault anyway. I was the first one to cheat on Elise because I fell in love with this little vixen here."
